Shah Jahan's birth
Baadshah Shah Jahan was born as Prince Shihab-ud-din Muhammad Khurram, on January 5, 1592 in Lahore, Pakistan. He was the son of the emperor Jahangir and Gossaini, Rajput women.He was a descendant of Genghis Khan, Emperor of Mongol Empire and Tamerlane, he is also a descendant of Emperor Charlemagne, the King of the Franks, King of the Lombards and the Emperor of the Romans.[ -
His marriage
He was fifteen when he married Arjumand Banu Begum, the grand daughter of persian noble. She was fourteen years old at this time. After their wedding celebrations, Khurram gave her the title Mumtaz Mahal (Jewel of the Palace) -
He becames Shah
Because of Khurram's intense military successes of 1617 against the Lodi in the Deccan, his grateful father rewarded him with the prestigious title 'Shah Jahan Bahadur' which implicitly sealed his inheritance. -

He is considered to be one of the greatest Mughals and his reign has been called the Golden Age of the Mughals and one of the most prosperous ages of the Indian civilization. -
He becames emperor
Even while very young, he was chosen as successor to the Mughal throne after the death of Emperor Jahangir. He succeeded to the throne upon his father's death in 1627. -
His wife past away
She died giving birth to their 14th childs. He had the idea like that to built the Taj Mahal. -
Taj Mahal
Build in 1632 for his wife, the Taj Mahal is his most famous contruction. The building took twenty years to complete and was constructed from white marble underlaid with brick. His wife and he were bury inside. -
New capitol
Shah Jahan started to work on a new capital in Dehli called Shahjahenabad in 1638. It took 10 years to complete, and continue to make changes until his death. -
The Shalimar garden
Build by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in Lahore,Pakistan. Construction began in 1641 and was completed the following year. -

Shah Jahan's death
Shah Jahan dies and is buried next to Mumtaz Mahal. In 1658 he fell ill, and was confined by his son Emperor Aurangzeb in the Citadel of Agra until his death in 1666.
