Kings of Judah: Rehoboam, Abijah, Asa, Jehoshaphat, Jehoram, Ahaziah, Athaliah, Jehoash, Amaziah, Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah. Kings of Israel: Jeroboam, Nadab, Baasha, Elah, Zimri, Omri, Ahab, Ahaziah, Joram/Jehoram, Jehu, Jehoahaz, Joash/Jehoash, Jeroboam II, Zechariah, Shallum, Menahem, Pekahiah, Pekah, Hoshea. Samuel Anointed Saul

1050 BCE

Saul and his servant were looking for their donkeys for a long time and went to Samuel to ask him because they knew he was a prophet. God told Samuel that he would meet a man and that he was to crown him king. So Samuel did just that but Saul was scared so he went back home to work in the fields.

Saul's Unlawful Sacrifice

1041 BCE

Saul had to wait for Samuel to come and sacrifice so that the Lord would be with them. He was going against the Philistines. He went against the Philistines three major times in his king's life. he couldn't wait long enough and did the sacrifice and just as he got done Samuel came to him to do the sacrifice.

Jonathan Beats Philistines

1041 BCE

Jonathan was probably getting bored of just sitting at home and not fighting. So he and his armor-bearer went to the Philistines to fight. they went up a hill to them and beat them. Later, when Jonathan was hungry he ate some honey but was informed that Saul made a vow, "Cursed be the man who eats food until it is evening."

Saul Beats Amalekites

1028 BCE

Saul was told to go to the Amalekites and destroy everything. So Saul went to battle against them and they won. But Saul kept king Agag alive to make himself look good and kept some of the best livestock. Samuel found out and Saul made excuses to cover up his sin and Samuel told him, "Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft." He also was not the king God wanted.

David Anointed King

1024 BCE

Samuel sought out another man to be king over Israel because Saul was not the man he seemed in the beginning. Samuel went to Bethlehem and went to the house of Jesse. He looked at all the brothers but the youngest one, David, was the one that God said was after his own heart.

David And Goliath

1024 BCE

David took supplies to his brothers who were at the battle against the Philistines. He saw and heard Goliath yelling out against Israel and God. David was not alright with this and told Saul he would fight. He used only a sling and a stone and he killed the at least 9-foot tall giant. he then cut off his head with his sword.

Jonathan Friends David

1015 BCE

Jonathon acknowledged that David was w=the next king to come and was alright with that. He gave him a belt and sword as a gift. Jonathan was ok with being friends with the man who took his spot as being king.

David And Jonathan's Friendship

Period: 1015 BCE to 1010 BCE

They were one of the most loyal friends in the bible. Jonathan protected David from his dad because he was loyal. Their friendship didn't last that long though, because Jonathan went to battle and was killed.

David On The Run

Period: 1014 BCE to 1010 BCE

David had a spear thrown at him twice from Saul. Saul chased him all over the place trying to kill David so he wouldn't become king. David had two opportunities to kill Saul but said he wouldn't kill the Lord's annointed.

Psalms of David

Period: 1013 BCE to 1011 BCE

He worshipped the Lord almost all the time. He wrote some of the most famous Psalms that we know to this day. He is a great example of thanking God even in the hard and scary times.

Saul Kills Priests At Nob

1011 BCE

He got mad at the priests because they helped David and gave him the sword of Goliath. Saul was willing to do anything to get David and anyone that helped David was his enemy. So he killed them all without hesitating.

Saul And The Witch

1010 BCE

Saul was scared of the battle to come because God had departed from him. Samuel was also dead so he couldn't just tell Samuel to ask God and tell him. So he went to a witch and was told that it wouldn't go well for them.

David As King

Period: 1010 BCE to 970 BCE

David was kind over Israel for 40 years. He won many battles and fought for the Lord at most times. He followed the Lord with great passion with only a few detours in his time.

David And Mephibosheth

995 BCE

David wanted to take care of anyone who was related to Jonathan. He only found one man who was the son of Jonathan and was crippled. David let him live in the palace and lets him eat at his table like he was a prince.

David And Bathsheba

993 BCE

David was at home when he was supposed to be in battle. He went up on his roof one day and then saw Bathsheba on her roof. He told his servant to bring her to him. She came to the palace and stayed the night. Soon after, David got a letter that said Bathsheba was pregnant. David brought Uriah and tried to get him to go to Bathsheba but he wouldn't. So he sent him away and told Joab to put Uriah in the front and drawback. Uriah died in the next battle. David married Bathsheba to cover his sin.

Nathan Came To David

991 BCE

David thought that he had gotta away with his sin with Bathsheba. But God told Nathan to go to David and tell him the sheep story of the rich and poor man. Then after the story, Nathan said David was the rich man who took the poor man's one sheep. David's sin caused the sword to never depart from his house, which you can see later that his family had many complications.

Solomon Becomes King

970 BCE

Solomon was crowned king by David in his very last days. David told him to kill Joab and he ended up killing Adonijah and Shimei because they did wrong after having a warning from Solomon. David gave him 100,000 shekels of gold and like a million shekels of silver and uncountable amounts of iron and other stuff for the temple.

Solomon's Reign

Period: 970 BCE to 930 BCE

Solomon was wise for most of his life. But he yielded to temptation and fell into sin and idol worship. He had 700 wives and 300 concubines which is one of the main reasons he started idol worship.

David's Death

968 BCE

David no longer could take care of himself and had a personal nurse to take care of him. David got the priests to crown Solomon before Adonijah got out of hand. He told Solomon to build the temple and gave him the materials because David was not allowed to build it because he killed so many people.

Solomon Askes For Wisdom

967 BCE

Solomon went to Gibeon to sacrifice there to the Lord. Then the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream and asked him what he should want. Solomon asked that he would understand and know how to govern the people.

King Hiram

967 BCE

King Hiram was the king of Trye and was a pretty good friend of Solomon. Hiram gave supplies for the building of the temple. Hiram also said that Solomon was a very wise man.

Solomon Building The Temple

966 BCE

Solomon was the one chosen to build the temple. David, his father, gave him many supplies for the building. He used stone, cedar, gold, olivewood, cypress, bronze, and metal to build the temple.

Queen Of Sheba

946 BCE

She came to him because she heard of him from her land. She wanted to tempt him and ask him hard questions to test his wisdom. Her mind was blown by what she saw and Solomon answered everything she asked of him. She said he was better than the rumors about him.

Solomon's Fall

939 BCE

Solomon set himself up for failure because of the many wives and concubines he had accumulated over time. He was sorta wise by having those wives because they were basically alliances but his wisdom ended up tearing him down. His main sin was giving in to the idol worship of his wives, some of which had very evil ways of worshipping their gods.

Elisha's friendship

939 BCE

Elisha was passing through and a rich family welcomed him into their house. They really enjoyed his presence and made an extra room in their house for Elisha so that he could come to stay with them whenever he was in the area. Elisha wanted to help them in a way he could. He told them that he would give them the chance to have a child. they have a son but he dies when he is from 5-11 and Elisha brought him back to life.

Kingdom Split

930 BCE

Rehoboam was in the place of the king because Solomon messed up and his son couldn't be king. Rehoboam wasn't the best man for the job because he forgot God when he was prosperous. And from then on, the whole kingdom was just a mess. The two territories were Israel and Judah.

Rehoboam (Judah)

Period: 930 BCE to 913 BCE

Rehoboam became king after Solomon. He was not his son but was actually Solomon's servant. This was told to Solomon by God because of his sin of idol worship with his wives. Rehoboam ruled over 10 of the tribes and the prophet showed this to him by ripping his coat into twelve pieces and giving ten to him.

Jeroboam (Israel)

Period: 930 BCE to 908 BCE

Jeroboam was one of the men who would give council to Rehoboam. He was the guy that set up the two golden calves and said that they delivered Israel out of Egypt. His son was sickly and he died when his wife went into the city. His son was Abijah and the prophet was Ahijah.

Two Golden Calves

927 BCE

Jeroboam set up two golden calves for them to worship. He put there one in the north and one in the south. That was so that people wouldn't have an excuse that it was too far to go. Jeroboam said that the golden calves had delivered them out of slavery.

Abijah (Judah)

Period: 913 BCE to 910 BCE

He reigned for three years. He was not a very good king. His father was rehoboam. His son was Asa. He fought a battle against Jeroboam. He started boasting that God would be with them and make them win the battle over Jeroboam because they had God but he wasn't righteous because he didn't follow God.

Asa (Judah)

Period: 910 BCE to 869 BCE

He was a great king. He got rid of the idols and got rid of the male cult prostitutes. He was king for 41 years. He gave the gold and silver to the servants.

Nadab (Israel)

Period: 909 BCE to 907 BCE

He was a king in Israel. He was killed by baasha. His father was Jeroboam. He was the 2nd king of the kingdom of Israel.

Baasha (Israel)

Period: 907 BCE to 883 BCE

He killed all of the house of Jeroboam. He reigned in Israel. He was not the most righteous man the reigned.

Asa War Against Ethiopians

900 BCE

Asa had around 500,000 men when they went into war. The Ethiopians had 1,000,000 men in their army. They killed everyone and got all the plunder.

Asa's Reformation

895 BCE

Azariah came to him and encouraged him to stay strong to the Lord. He tore down the idols and got rid of the male cult prostitutes. He sacrificed to God and said everyone who didn't follow God would be put to death.

Asa's sin

894 BCE

He got the Syrians to attack Israel as a distraction. Then when Israel left the wall he took the wall and moved it to Judah's side. The seer came to Asa and said he would be a man of war and Asa got mad and put him in prison and was mad at Judah. He died from a foot disease.

Elah (Israel)

Period: 883 BCE to 881 BCE

He was Baasha's son. He reigned for two years. He reigned in the kingdom of Israel. He was killed by Zimri, his servant. His whole house was destroyed.

Zimri (Israel)

881 BCE

Zimri took over the kingdom by killing Elah and all his house as prophesied by Jehu to Baasha. He reigned for seven days because the other commander of Elah was pursuing him. He ended up burning himself in his palace down.

Omri (Israel)

Period: 881 BCE to 869 BCE

He reigned in Israel and it was divided into two parts but his people killed the other people. He reigned for twelve years. He was evil in the sight of the Lord.

Ahab (Israel)

Period: 879 BCE to 857 BCE

He is the son of Omri. He was very wicked. He was more wicked than any other king in Israel. His wife was even more wicked, Jezebel.

Elijah at the brook

869 BCE

Elijah told Ahab that there would be no dew or rain in the next three years because he was so wicked. Elijah was fed by the ravens that brought some meat and bread. He also drank water from the brook until it dried up.

Jehosephat (Judah)

Period: 869 BCE to 844 BCE

He was a very good King. His one main mistake was that he married his son to Ahab's daughter. He reigned for 25 years in Judah.

Elijah to the widow

866 BCE

The brook of Cherith dried up and God told him to go to the city and go to the widow who is picking up sticks. She has to make Elijah food then she can have food. By her faith, her flour and oil never ran out in the drought.

Jehosephat and death of Ahab

865 BCE

Ahab allied with Jehosephat and they went to war against the Syrians. Ahab disguised himself because the prophet Micaiah said he would die. A soldier shot a random arrow and it hit Ahab and kill him and the dogs licked up his blood.

Jehosephat's war

864 BCE

The Moabites, the Ammonites, and the Meunites were coming against them. Jehosephat was kinda scared so he asked the Lord to help them. In the morning they went out and he put the choir in the front of the army. The other people then fought each other and killed themselves and it took three days for Jehosephat and them to gather all the spoil.

Mount Caramel

863 BCE

Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal to see who is the real God. They went up on Mount Caramel and built altars for their gods to burn sacrifices on. The prophets of Baal cut themselves and yelled out and nothing happened. Elijah prayed to God and God burned everything.

The Mountain Of God

863 BCE

Elijah fled Jezebel because she said she was gonna kill him in 24 hours or less. He went to a cave and asked God to kill him. he fell asleep and the Angel of the Lord fed him food twice. He lived off that food for 40 days and 40 nights with no eating or sleeping. He went to the mountain of God. God showed Elijah great wonders, tornado, hurricane, and fire. God came to him in a still soft voice after Elijah had complained.

Ben-hadad's War

858 BCE

The guy tells Ahab to give him silver, gold, his children, and his wives. Ahab says no after the guy says he will take whatever he wants. The other guy got drunk and Ahab fought them and won the battle.

Ahaziah (Israel)

Period: 857 BCE to 855 BCE

He is the son of Ahab. They were fighting in the city and he went to cross the ladis and he fell to the ground. He became sick and Elijah said he would die and never get out of his bed. Elijah called fire from heaven twice and killed two commanders and 100 men in all.

Naboth's vineyard

855 BCE

Ahab sees the vineyard in the sight of his palace and liked it so he wanted it. He went to the owner, Naboth, and asked for the vineyard. Naboth wouldn't give it to him because it was his inheritance. Ahab pouted and eventually had Naboth killed and claimed it for himself.

Jehoram son of Ahab (Israel)

Period: 855 BCE to 841 BCE

He is Ahaziah's dad. He was not a very good king but was not as bad as his parents, Ahab and Jezebel. They wanted to get Moab back to pay them tribute. Israel, Jehosephat, and Edom are all going together across the desert and they found no water for seven days. And Elisha came and helped them because Jehosephat was there. There was no rain and the whole country was filled with water. The Moabites saw the water and thought it was blood from them fighting each other. The Israelites killed them

Elijah's Departure

845 BCE

Elijah was going away and asked Elisha to stay where they were three times but Elisha persisted to follow him. They came to the Jordan and hit his cloak on it and the water parted. They came to the place that Elijah was gonna depart from. Elijah asked Elisha what he wanted before he would leave. Elisha asked to have double the power he had. So Elijah left in the flaming chariot and Elisha saw it and that was the proof that he would have a double portion. He had Elijah's cloak.

Elisha Water

845 BCE

The men of the city came to Elisha and said they had no good water. So he got a new pot full of salt. He dumped the salt into the spring and the water was good

Jehoram son of Jehosephat (Judah)

Period: 844 BCE to 836 BCE

He was the son of Ahab. He walked in the ways of the kings which means he was not a good king. He also has the same name as another king and he reigned for eight years.

Widow's Oil

842 BCE

The widow had nothing and her sons were gonna be taken away and sold into slavery if she wouldn't pay the debt of her husband. So she came to Elisha for help. Elisha told her to get a bunch of jars and fill them with the little bit of oil she had in her jar. And all the jars were filled from the little jar.

Jehu (Israel)

Period: 841 BCE to 806 BCE

He is anointed king by a prophet from Elisha. He was the commander of the Israel army. He kills all the family of Ahab. He killed the kings of Israel and Judah and also Jezebel. The 70 sons of Ahab are killed by their cities and then the sites send their heads to him in baskets. He also killed and basically destroyed the worship of baal forever in Israel.

Ahaziah (Judah)

Period: 836 BCE to 835 BCE

He was killed by Jehu. He reigned for one year. He was not a good king.

Naaman Healed

835 BCE

His servant girl knew Elisha and Naaman went there and the King of Syria demanded from the king of Israel that he be healed. Elisha told him to go bathe in the Jordan seven times. Naaman was healed and thanked Elisha.

Gehazi Gets Leprosy

835 BCE

Gehazi went to Naaman because Elisha told him they didn't need gifts from him. Gehazi went to him and got the gifts and lied to him. He took the things up to his house and went back to the house where he and Elisha were staying. When he got back Elisha knew what he did and the leprosy of Naaman.

Athaliah

835 BCE

She is the daughter of Ahab. She got married to Jehoram the son of Jehosephat. She was the one that got into the line of Jesus. She reigned for seven years in Judah.

Athaliah (Judah)

Period: 835 BCE to 829 BCE

She was not a good king at all. She was the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel. She tried to kill the whole king's family. she reigned for six years.

Jehoahaz (Israel)

Period: 816 BCE to 799 BCE

He was an evil king. He was the son of Jehu. They were oppressed and captured by the Syrians. He sought the Lord once and he delivered them from the Syrians.

Amaziah (Judah)

Period: 813 BCE to 784 BCE

He was a better king than most men but was not as good as David. His father was Joash. He reigned for twenty-nine years. He killed the men who killed his father. Won against edomites because he sent Israel home but then worshipped their idols and lost every battle he fought for the rest of his reign.

Jehoash (Judah)

Period: 806 BCE to 790 BCE

He was not a good king. He was the son of Jehoahaz. He reigned for sixteen years. he hit the ground three times with Elisha.

Joash (Israel)

Period: 790 BCE to 750 BCE

He reigned for 40 years. He started reigning when he was seven years old. He restored the temple. Jehoida the priest died when he was 130. Joash listened to other men and they worshipped idols. He became a very bad king because he killed his cousin, who was sort of his brother and was also the high priest.

Uzziah (Judah)

Period: 784 BCE to 732 BCE

He became king when he was sixteen years old after Uzziah. He did what was right in the sight of the Lord and did well whenever he followed God. Zechariah the prophet helped him and taught him. He made the kingdom better and added cities and forts and made farming good.

Jeroboam II (Israel)

Period: 750 BCE to 709 BCE

His father was Joash. He was a king in Israel. He did evil and the bible says "he did not part from the ways of Jeroboam" meaning the first one. He restored the border of Israel.

Uzziah's sin

732 BCE

He became prideful of himself. He went into the temple to sacrifice incense but the high priest and 80 other priests went after him and stopped him. He got mad at them and God struck him with leprosy till his death.

Jotham (Judah)

Period: 732 BCE to 707 BCE

He was the son of Uzziah. he was 25 years old when he began to reign. He reigned for 16 years. He became king because his father sinned and got leprosy. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord except the people were still corrupt.

Zechariah (Israel)

709 BCE

He reigned for six months. He was the son of Jeroboam. He was killed by Shallum. Shallum reigned in his place.

Shallum (Israel)

708 BCE

He killed Zechariah and became king. He reigned less than a year because he was killed. Menahem killed him.

Menahem (Israel)

Period: 708 BCE to 698 BCE

He killed Shallum and became king. He was very evil in the sight of the lord. When he killed Shallum he cut open all the women who were pregnant.

Ahaz (Judah)

Period: 707 BCE to 687 BCE

He was 20 when he began to reign. He did what was not right in the eyes of the Lord but like most of the other kings, he had his mistakes. He made metal images and that was his sin.

Pekahiah (Israel)

Period: 698 BCE to 696 BCE

He reigned for two years. He was the son of Menahem and that means he was evil. His captain Pekah killed him.

Pekah (Israel)

Period: 696 BCE to 676 BCE

He killed Pekahiah as his captain. He was attacked by Syria a lot. He was killed as well by a person. Nothing really went well for him. He was evil.

Hezekiah's Passover

687 BCE

He realized that everyone was not doing what was right. He told everyone to consecrate themselves for the Passover. They were not consecrated in time so they had the Passover a little later than usual. The people all gave the priests tythes.

Hezekiah (Judah)

Period: 687 BCE to 658 BCE

He was a king in Judah. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He restored the temple and they had the Passover but it was late because they weren't consecrated in time. Sennacherib came against him and blasphemed against God but an angel came and they won. He became sick because he was prideful and he prayed to God and the sun moved backward to prove that he would be healed.

Sennacherib

680 BCE

he conquered everyone except the area where Hezekiah was. He sent a messenger Rabshakeh to tell them the deal. Sennacherib blasphemes against God and Hezekiah takes the letter to the temple. God sent an angel or the Angel of the Lord and he killed 185,000 people of the Assyrian army.

Babylon comes

677 BCE

Babylon noticed that the sun moved backward and came to Hezekiah. When they came they found out that it was God. Hezekiah decided to give them a "tour" of the palace. He showed them all of his riches and all the great places. But then he took them into the temple and showed them around there. God said the next generations of him would be destroyed and he told God that he didn't really care.

Hoshea (Israel)

Period: 676 BCE to 668 BCE

He was evil in the sight of the Lord. He killed Pekah. He became the servant of the Assyrian king. He rebelled and was captured by the most savage empire, Assyria. This was the end of Israel.

Hezekiah's Sickness

673 BCE

Hezekiah got sick. God sent Isaiah to tell Hezekiah that he was soon to die. He prayed to God and said that he would not have his line continue. God said he would live and the sign was that the sun moved backward 10 hours.

Manasseh (Judah)

Period: 658 BCE to 603 BCE

He started reigning when he was twelve years old. He reigned for 55 years and did a lot of evil at that time. He rebuilt all the high places that his father, Hezekiah, had taken down. He talked to mediums and did many other things and even sacrificed his own son. He eventually humbled himself because he was captured by the Babylonians.

Amon (Judah)

Period: 603 BCE to 601 BCE

He was 22 when he began to reign. He reigned for 2 years. He was evil just as his father was. He was conspired against and killed by his servants. The people of Judah then killed the servants and put Josiah in the place of the king because he was Amon's son.

Josiah (Judah)

Period: 601 BCE to 562 BCE

He started reigning when he was eight years old and reigned for 31 years. When he was around sixteen, he began to follow the Lord. He was repairing the temple in the eighteenth year of his reign and Hilkiah found the Book of the Law. The prophetess Huldah said they would be destroyed and cursed as the Book of the Law says. Josiah ripped his clothes and worshipped the Lord and repented and they were saved. They had the Passover. Josiah disguised himself so he could fight in battle and was killed.

Jehoahaz (Judah)

561 BCE

He bacame king when he was 23 years old. He was king for three months. The king of Egypt "disposed" of him and laid tribute on Judah.

Jehoiakim (Judah)

Period: 561 BCE to 550 BCE

He was 25 years old when he became king. He reigned for 11 years. He was an evil king. He was captured by Nebuchadnezzar.

Jehoiachin (Judah)

550 BCE

He is the son of Jehoiakim. He reigned for three months and 10 days. he was evil. He was captured by Nebuchadnezzar.

Zedekiah (Judah)

Period: 550 BCE to 539 BCE

He was 21 years old when he became king. He didn't listen to Jeremiah. He rebelled against Nebuchadnezzar.
