He won, but God was not pleased because he asked someone other than God. the prophet told him he would be punished with a disease. He died in the year 870 BC. -

he was a hard worker and a servant for Solomon. Ahijah the prophet came and told Jeroboam that he would have 10 tribes of Israel, because Solomon rebelled. Solomon then died. He ruled in Israel. Jeroboam built 2 golden calves, 1 in the south and 1 in the north. God points back to scripture multiple times that this is the reason Israel had no good kings, and the reason why Judah had some more good kings. reigned for 22 years. -

Rehoboam
The people of Israel told him to make it easier for them because of Solomon's hard taxes. he went to the younger advice, and followed their bad advice, by making their taxes higher. Israel rebelled against him because of this, and he fled with his chariot because they stoned the tax collector. He ruled in Judah for 17 years. -

Jeroboam's son gets sick and he sends his wife in disguise to Ahijah.He was the prophet that said Jeroboam would be king. Ahijah tells her that this is their consequence for not obeying God. He said that he would bring disaster on the house of Jeroboam, and that the son would die. As soon as Jeroboam's wife got home, the son died. Jeroboam was 41 when he started to reign. Jeroboam disguised his wife, so the prophet wouldn't know that they r the people that is leading Israel in sin. -

a man of God came to Jeroboam while he was worshipping the idol and told him that the altar would be destroyed by a son named Josiah. Jeroboam tried to seize him, but God shriveled his hand up so he could not seize him. He told the man of God to come eat with him, but he refused because God told him not to. -

the famine was very severe and Elisha told the people that there would be food the next day selling for extremely cheap. There was 4 lepers right outside the gate of the Syrians, and they decided to go in. they went in and there was no one there. the rest of the city heard and trampled a guy and killed him. The city recovered a lot of the Syrians supplies because they had ran back to their cities and left their stuff in the camp. -

Ben-Hadad the king of Syria was sick and told Hazael to go ask Elisha if he would live or not. Elisha told him that he would get better, but God has told me that he would end up dying. Hazael went back and told him that he would recover, but Hazael then killed Ben-Hadad and was king in his place. -

When he started his reign, he executed all the people who killed his dad. He wins a battle against the Edomites, and he brings back idols as the spoil, and starts worshipping them. God sent a prophet and says that he knows that God will destroy him because he disobeyed God. Some of his servants killed him because they kept losing their battles. -

Hazael comes to war against him, and Jehoahaz called out to God and God listened, and gave him a saviour and they beat the Syrians. this is the one good decision that Jehoahaz did in his life. They kept loosing to the Syrians the army decreases a lot. -

Jehoash went to Elisha and he told Jehoash to shoot the arrow out the window, and Jehoash strikes the ground with the rest of the arrows on the ground 3 times. Elisha gets mad and wonders why he didn't do it 5-6 times because he would know win 3 battles and then lose the rest of the battles. -

Jehoash was near the end of the reign and because Zechariah had told the people to repent and turn to God, Jehoash had him stoned in the temple. Zechariah said that there would be revenge on him, right before he died. this is the reason why Jehoash was killed by his servants. -

some people were running away from a battle, and one of the guys dies, and the people with him throw him into the same cave that Elisha was buried. He landed on Elisha's bones, and the guy was alive again and he kept on running with the other guys. -

The Israelites took many people captive, men, women, and children and a lot of spoil and a prophet (Oded) came to the people, and told them to take them back. The Israelites took the captives back, and clothed and fed them. Ahaz cut up the altar of God and put up idols all over Jerusalem. The punishment for his idolatry was losing battles against Syria, Assyria and Israel. -

Hezekiah's sickness
Hezekiah became sick and Isaiah came to him and told him to get the house in order because he will die. Hezekiah then prayed to God and wept. God heard his prayers and Isaiah came back and told Hezekiah that he has 15 years left to live and the judgement would go on his son. Hezekiah wondered what a sign would be, and Isaiah gave him an option of having the sun move forward 10 hours or 10 hours backward. the sun went 10 hours back and this was the sign that Hezekiah chose. -

Hezekiah and the Babylonians
the Babylonians cam to Hezekiah because they heard that he had been sick and because they found out that Hezekiah was the one who told the sun to move backward. Hezekiah showed them around the palace and showed them the temple. Isaiah came to Hezekiah and told him that there would be judgement for bringing the people into the temple, and for taking the credit for everything. Isaiah said that the judgement would be on his sons, and Hezekiah thought...Why not? -

Josiah started his reign when he was 8 and in the 12 yr, he started tearing down altars for Baal and he destroyed the 2 golden calves. He dug up the bones of the priests of the idols and burned them up. He fulfilled the prophesy. -

Josiah sent a few people to go clean out the temple, and they find the scroll of David. they find out all the things they've did wrong and Josiah send for a prophetess. She said that they would be cursed from the curses and consequences they read. but because Josiah humbled himself before the Lord, he would not see the disasters of the curses. Josiah gathered all the elders together and he read to the people Genesis to Deuteronomy, and he tried to do everything to stop the judgement from coming. -

Josiah's death
Egypt declared war that they would have to pass through Israel. Josiah tells him to not pass through because he would be fighting God if he fought him. Josiah went against Egypt in disguise and an archer shot him and he died. -

He was Josiah's son and he reigned for 3 months in Jerusalem. The people appointed him as king when he was 23 yrs old. the king of Egypt came and disposed of Jehoahaz and put Jehoiakim as king instead. Jehoiakim was his brother. -

He was Jehoahaz's brother and he reigned for 11 yrs starting when he was 25 yrs old. He was evil in the sight of the Lord, and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon came up against him and bound him up in his palace. this was probably the captivity that Daniel and his friends were captured in. -

Gedeliah was a governor and he served Babylon and listened to them. his servants did not like that he followed Babylon, and they rebelled Babylon and Babylon came back and destroyed Judah so that pretty much nothing is left. this was the 5th time that they rebelled. He reigned for about 7 months
