King Saul had some anger issues and lost his temper sometimes. His men knew he needed some sort of therapy to calm him down when these evil spirits were upon him. David knew how to play the harp very well and came into Saul's presence to help him. -

The Philistines had a giant warrior named Goliath. No one wanted to fight Goliath because he was too intimidating. David the shepherd boy stepped up and said that he would fight Goliath. Everyone doubted David but God was with him and he struck down Goliath with a sling and a stone. -

Saul pursues David
Soon after he was crowned king, Saul started making some bad decisions and God started to regret his decision of making Saul king. The Lord sent Samuel to find and anoint yet another king. Samuel anointed David to be king later on in his life. Once king Saul found out about David's anointing, he was not happy. He started trying to kill David while he was playing the harp for him. -

After Saul tried to kill him twice, David had decided that he was going to flee from the kingdom of king Saul. Saul's son Jonathan had an extremely goof relationship with David and they were very good friends. After they said their goodbyes to each other, David fled into the wilderness, away from the wrath of Saul. -

Saul persecutes David after David wins another battle, and tries to pin him to the wall with his spear. His wife tells him to run, and she makes it look like he is in his bed sleeping. David then escapes to Samuel at Ramah. -

David goes to Nob where the sanctuary and approaches Ahimelech, He asks him for food. He gives him the Holy Bread and Goliaths sword. David is not truthful about his business -

David in cave at Adullam
David flees to a cave in Adullam. Some of his family and others who are not happy with Saul's reign, are also there. David becomes the commander of a small army of about four hundred men. -

David Spares Saul's life
When Saul pursues David to En Gedi, He goes into a cave to relieve himself. David and some of his men are hiding at the back of the cave. David sneaks up behind Saul and cuts off part of his robe. Saul goes home without knowing what happened. -

Saul's Death
Saul and his army (including his sons) went to fight the Philistines at Mount Gilboa. His sons were killed. When Saul heard this he told his armor bearer to stab and kill him. The armor bearer refused. Saul then purposely fell on his sword, killing himself. -

David becomes king over Israel
After Saul's death, David became king over Judah. After a civil war where Abner and Ishbosheth are murdered, the people ask David to be king over all of Israel. David then begins his reign of forty years. -

After David brought the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem, he wanted to build a permanent place for the sanctuary. He hires Nathan to help him and Nathan says "Do It" but David later finds out that it won't be him who builds the temple, it will be his sons. -

Satan comes to David and tells him to number all of Israel and Judah. Earlier God told him not to number everyone in Israel. He realized that he had done wrong in the Lords eyes, he was very ashamed of what he had done. -
