    Woo-jin moves to America for a new start and hoping to escape poverty.

    The second day that Woo-jin is in America he gets mugged by three white men and they also rob him. he is off to a bad start.

    After Woo-jin has gotten to know Hawaii a little better he finds that they are hiring at a plantation near his apartment building. This is a huge chance for him. He goes to it one day and he gets a job working in the fields.

    Since Woo-jin is used to working very hard to get a little money hedoes that but gets paid much more that he did in Korea. He ends up getting enough money to soon be able to move out of Hawaii and in to the United States.
  • Moving West

    Decides to move to the western part of the US because it has better oppertunities than Hawaii and more land. He hopes to eventually own his own plantation.
  • New Job in the West

    New Job in the West
    Woo-jin makes the move to western US with no problems he ends up getting a Job that was better than his one in Hawaii and getting paid much more. He notices that the soil is much better at the new plantaton.

    This new act is to keep white labor from competition with Chinese labor. Woo-jin notices that the white men aren't as nice at the plantation and not many Asian people are getting jobs there.

    Woo-jin gets a promotion at the plantation after four years of hard work. He was expecting one after his first year but is still grateful because he hasn't lost his job yet like many other koreans.

    Woo-jin loses his job on tha plantation but has enough money to last a while and is not very worried.

    Woo-jin passes away at an age of 70.
