Birth

School years
Comte attended École Polytechnique school in Paris, which was transformed into a school for advanced sciences, but temporarily closed in 1816. He then worked in journalism and teaching mathematics. From 1832-1842 he was a tutor and examiner, and reopened the school. -
Love life
He married Caroline Massin in 1825, but they separated in 1842 due to the marriage being an unhappy one. A year later he met Clotilde de Vaux, and had a deep romantic relationship. She influenced many of his writings and ideologies on women in a positivist society and died in 1846 to tuberculosis. -
Positive Philosophy
Comte began lectures on a system of positive philosophy, soon after he had a nervous breakdown and stopped until 1828 which is when he started teaching again. The following year he redelivered his lectures to the Royal Athenaeum, and started his books on positive philosophy. -
System of Positive Polity
After the death of his lover Clotilde, Comte devoted himself to writing the System of Positive Polity, which focused on sociology, and improving society. His writing was based on politic morality being the central concentration of human knowledge and effort. He spent 1851 to 1854 writing the different volumes to his books. With these he influenced many people, and even got his works translated in different languages. -
Death
