    Kuhn's Life

    Unfortunately, Thomas Kuhn died of lung cancer in 1996. He did however leave us with amazing work. He studied at Harvard university in 1949 and then later proceeded on to The Taft School after that. He studied physics in school which helped him keep a scientific discipline for his future work.

    Thomas Kuhn had became a Guggenheim Fellow in 1954. A Guggenheim fellowship is a grant that is awarded to those who have outstanding academic productivity. This grant helped Kuhn win other awards as well.

    Kuhn discussed and researched the development of the heliocentric theory. He explains that the Copernican revolution did not lose its significance by any means. This was also the first book he published.

    Kuhn changed the way we look at science with this book. Many also consider it to be one of the most influential books of the 20th century. He changed scientific understanding from a paradigm.

    George Sarton Medal
    Thomas Kuhn was awarded the George Sarton Medal in the History of Science. Kuhn would have not been able to do this without his Guggenheim fellowship. This award is the most prestigious that is given out by the History of Science annually. This award is only presenting to one person each year.
