Life Of Thomas Kuhn
Thomas Kuhn was born on July 18th 1922 in Ohio. Thomas Kuhn was a brilliant man who has three degrees. He obtained a bachelors and masters degree in physics. Both of these degrees he had obtained while he was in Harvard University. He also has obtained his Phd. Before he had gotten these degrees in his early life he attended a private boarding school which was Taft school in Watertown, Conneticut. -
Career
After finishing his schooling with his bachelors Thomas Kuhn joined a group. "in the summer of 1943, Kuhn joined the Radio Research Laboratory’s theoretical group. Based at Harvard, his group was tasked with devising countermeasures against enemy radar. He was soon sent to work in a laboratory in the United Kingdom." Soon after this he returned to Harvard for his other two degrees. He also taught at Harvard from 1951-1956, Berkeley 1956-1964, Princeton 1964-1979, Institute of Technology. -
Paradigm Shift
The paradigm shift was the defining moment for Kuhn. The shift was something that changed science. He described the paradigm shift in four specific phases. First phase was "Normal Science in which science when about their everyday activities. The second phase was "Model Crisis" anomalies start to add up and there are just to many to explain. Death
Thomas Kuhn passed away at the age of 73 due to cancer on June 17th 1996. He was suffering from throat and lung cancer for two years.
