    The start of his education
    Thomas Samuel Kuhn born on July 18,1922 in Cincinnati Ohio. From kindergarten until fifth grade he attended a private school called Lincoln school located in Manhattan. His family moved north to a small town near Hudson where he attended another private school named Hessian Hills School. IT was while he attended the new school that he found his love for mathematics.

    He continued his education at Harvard college and obtained hi BSc degree in physics. He also obtained MCs and a PhD degree in physics in 1946 and 1949 under the supervision of John Van Vleck. His three years of academic studies were crucial to him because it allowed him to change his studies from physics to the history and philosophy.

    Kuhn describes the change of intellectual framework within which facts are interpreted as a paradigm shift. He realized that he could not understand Aristotle’s ideas of motion because of his idea for modern physics.
