Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 17, 1858 and grew up in New York. He was the second of four children.His father, named Theodore, Sr., was a businessman and Philanthropist. His mother, Martha Roosevelt, she was a southerner. Theodore grew up surrounded by the love of his parents and sibling. He was always a sickly child afflicted with asthma. He was tutored at home by his private teachers. As a teenager he decided to join a program of gymnastics and weight-lifting. -

He was home-schooled as a young child, but in 1876 he entered Harvard College. He was always really interested in science, and he pursued this field in Harvard.
