Hatching
The ducklings are hatching from their eggs and the last one to hatch is not like the others. He has white feathers instead of yellow and is much bigger than the rest. -

Off to the pond
The mother duck takes her ducklings to a nearby pond so they can learn how to properly be a duck. When they practice their quacking the ugly duckling lets out a strange quack that is not like the rest. All of the other ducks laughed at him and this made him sad and embarrassed. -

Time to go
Later that night, the ugly duckling decided it was his time to leave because he did not feel he belonged in his family. -

Trying to find a new family
The ugly ducking came across another family of ducks on his journey and decided to say hello. When he approached the family he was not welcomed in a nice manner and instead was laughed at and called ugly. He then sadly went on his way. -

Approaching the geese
Next, the ugly duckling came across another pond that was filled with geese. He approached them and introduced himself. They too called him ugly and laughed, but when he was walking away they surrounded him and told him he was still welcome to stay with them. This made him so happy even though he knew he was not one of them. -

The Hunting
There were a couple of days that went by with the geese family and everything was great, but one day a hunter and his hound came to hunt the geese. The hunter started shooting and scared off all of the geese but the duckling had no other choice but to sit there. The hound comes up to him and tells him that he is not a goose, he is, in fact, ugly and laughed at him. -

The farmers
The ugly duckling was growing bigger and needed to find food to eat so he went to a nearby shelter. He was found by two farmers and they thought he was a duck so they took him to their farm in hopes of him laying eggs that they could have. -

No eggs
The ugly duckling is not a duck so he did not lay any eggs. Once the farmers noticed he was not laying eggs they told him to leave and find a family that actually loves him. So the ugly duckling went on his way. -

The swans
Winter had passed and somehow the ugly duckling survived. It was springtime and he continued on his journey. One day he came across a beautiful pond with the most beautiful birds he had ever seen. He did not want to introduce himself to these birds because they were far too pretty for him so he sat and watched. -

Happy ever after
One swan gracefully swam through the pond and greeted the ugly duckling. The swan told him he had the whitest feathers he had ever seen and was so beautiful. The ugly duckling did not know what the swan was talking about and came close to the water to look at his reflection. He saw that he was the most beautiful swan with a long and elegant neck. He was so happy that he finally found his family and continued to live with the swans for the rest of his life.
