Samuel Sewall went to Salem, Massachusetts. The people accused of witchcraft were examined in the meeting house. There were a lot of people present at the assembly. The people who claimed to be bewitched were very agitated and disturbed. -

George Burroughs, John Willard, John Proctor, Martha Carrier, and George Jacobs were executed at Salem. There were many spectators present, who said that these people were innocent. Mr. Mather,a Puritan clergyman, said they died by a righteous sentence. -
Giles Cory Killed
At noon in Salem, Giles Cory was pressed to death. He refused to admit to his charge of witchcraft. He believed that his estate would be confiscated if he admitted to his charge. So instead, he stood mute. As a result, rocks were piled on a board across his chest. -
Dorcas Hoar Confesses
A petition was sent to town on behalf of Dorcas Hoar, who confessed. An order was sent to the sheriff to hold back her execution because she was in the warrant to die the next day. Dorcas Hoar was the first condemned person to confess. -
