The Curious Incident of The Dog in The Night-Time

  • We Meet

    Christopher John Francis Boone is a young man with Asperger’s syndrome. This is a disease that is on the Autism spectrum. He has trouble interacting with human beings and understanding emotion. However, he has a tremendous memory, but also associates colors with his mood for the day.
  • The Death (P. 1)

    Christopher is outside seven minutes after midnight in his neighbor’s yard. He walks up on a horrible scene. A dog named Wellington had been stabbed and killed. Christopher is upset about the whole situation, but gets kicked off the lawn by his neighbor, Mrs. Shear.
  • Remembering Mother (P. 22)

    Christopher remembers when his mother died two years earlier. He came home from school to an empty house. His father arrives home and explains that Christopher’s mother was in the hospital because of a heart condition. He made his mother a card, but would be unable to actually see his mother in the hospital. So his father takes the card and she passes away two weeks later.
  • Investigation (P.34)

    Christopher sets out to try and figure out who killed Wellington. He draws a map of the area and goes door to door questioning people. He does not actually get to talk to many people because he is scared of many of the neighbors. He finally gets to house number 39. Here lives Mrs. Alexander, an elderly woman who has no idea what happened to Wellington.
  • Dinner (P. 48)

    Christopher comes home after his search to dinner already made by his father. He begins to tell his father what he has found during his investigation. Christopher goes on to mention that he believes Mrs. Shear is responsible for Wellington's death. His father angrily pounds the table and tells his son to never mention that name again.
  • The Truth (P. 53)

    Christopher goes home after school and runs into Mrs. Alexander. He explains to her what happened with his father at th mention of Mr. Shears name. She goes on to explain to Christopher what happened between Mr. Shears and his mother. It turns out that Christopher's mother had an affair with Mr. Shears.
  • Confrontation (P. 79)

    Christopher returns home before his father does.
    When his father returns home he asks if the conversation Christopher had with Mrs. Alexander is true. Christopher answers yes and his father grabs him. Christopher becomes frightened and beings to hit his father. He ends up tearing his father's shirt and giving him a scratch on his neck. His father takes the book Christopher has been working on and throws it in te garbage.
  • Suprise (P. 90)

    Christopher gets home from school and decides to go and get his book. It turn out that the book is under his father's bed. However, Christopher finds something else under his father's bed as well. It turns out his father has been hding letters that his mother wrote to him. What suprises Christopher the most is that the letters are dated 18 months after his mother died.
  • No More Lies (P.119)

    Christopher's father finally tells his son he is sorry for lying to him about his mother. He says he wants there to be no more secrets between the two of them. So his father confesses to killing Wellington. Christopher cannot believe his father did such a horrible deed. He goes to hide in the garden for the night.
  • Adventure Begins (P. 126)

    Christopher decides that he can no loger live with his father because of everything that has happened between the two of them. So he decides to go find his mother. He takes his father's bank card and cellphone. He then heads off to the train station so he can get to London.
  • Buying a Ticket (P. 144)

    Christopher heads to the train station, but is overwhelmed by the amount of people and signs with advertisements. He spend about two hours sitting in a cafe. A police officer approaches him and asks what he s doing. He replies trying to get on a train to London so he can visit his mother. The officer helps him to get a ticket.
  • Train Ride (P. 158)

    Christopher ends up on the train and the police officer that bought him the ticket wants to take him back to his father. Christopher ends up in the bathroom hiding from the officer. The officer has no idea where Christopher has gone.
  • Staying With Mother (P. 179)

    hristopher arrives to his mother house in London to find she is not there. He waits for his mother to arrive. She inally comes home and could not be happier to see him. She goes to ask him why he never wrote her back. He goes on the explain what his father did. He goes to sleepthat night only to wake up to his mother and father yelling at each other.
  • The End (P. 200)

    Christopher is not happy with his mother. So he and his father start torebuild their relatioship. His father buys hs a puppy. Christopher cannot wait tomove out and be on his own with his dog, books and computer. He was to be a scientist.
