    Buck is Taken Away
Buck is a big St. Bernard, who lives in San Francisco, with Judge Miller.Every day, Buck can run saround in the warmness and has many friends to play with, and does not have to worry about a thing. One day Buck was left with Manuel, the gardener. He had a big gambling problem and needed money fast.Manuel then took Buck, and sold him to a man who was collecting dogs for the Alaskan Gold Rush. Buck was loaded into a car,and whined. This alludes to the Alskan Gold Rush when dogs were taken away, and sold.
  • The Ride on the Train

    The Ride on the Train
Later, Buck was thrown onto a train with hundreds of other starving innocent dogs. Never in all of Bucks life had he been so poorly treated, or in such a tight space. He was used to running around acres of land. This event is Bucks first metamorphosis, because it is the first time that he doesn't have freedom. This event alludes to the Northrn passage because Africans were taken from their home and crammed on boats, just like the dogs that were taken to be sled dogs.
  • The Man With the Red Sweater

The Man With the Red Sweater
After hours on the train, it came to a stop. Buck was weak, and had no idea what was going on, until he saw a mysterious man in a red sweater with a big club. The man took Buck and several other dogs of the train, and began to beat them. Buck learned something very important from that beating. Always respect the man. This event is a juxtaposition of the right of men to the rights of dogs. This leads to another one of Bucks metamorphoses because he learns he learns to avoid the humans.
  • Francois and Perrault

    Francois and Perrault
Bucks First owners were Francois and Perrault. When they saw Buck on the train, both of them knew that he would make a great sled dog. Francois and Perrault were good owners, because the made Buck little shoes so his paws wouldn't freeze, since he is not used to snow. Although, sometimes Buck will get whipped. This event leads to Bucks second metamorphosis when he kills Spitz, his fellow sled dog.
  • The Brawl that Changes it All

The Brawl that Changes it All
One cold night, Buck dug a nice cozy hole to sleep in, but of course Spitz decided to jump into it.Buck got so angry that he sprung upon Spitz, and decided it was time for Spitz to die. Buck and Spitz fought, and blood stained their fur.Spitz was too weak so he ran away but snow enveloped him and he died. This is Buck’s second metamorphosis because, it is the first time he became a savage beast. This is Juxtoposition, because Spitz was bigger and meaner than Buck, but they still fought.
  • Buck Becomes the Lead Dog

    Buck Becomes the Lead Dog
After the fight between Buck and Spitz, Francois and Perrault realized that Buck would make a good lead dog. Sadly, Francois and Perrault put Sollecks as the lead dog, but later Francois gave in and put Buck as the lead dog.
  • Hal, Mercedes, Charles

    Hal, Mercedes, Charles
One night Francois and Perrault got very drunk, but there was a park ranger who took them away and said that they could never come back.Bucks new owners were named Hal, Mercedes, and Charles.Hal and Charles would sometimes have to beat and whip the dogs, but Mercedes liked the dogs. So she didn't appreciate it when Hal and Charles hurt them.Although, they did under feed the dogs. This also contributes to Bucks last metamorphosis because he gets very hungry and even more savage.
  • Bucks Real Strength

    Bucks Real Strength
Everybody knew that Buck was very strong both physically and mentally.Although, they wanted to see how strong,so John and his fellow mushers put 1,000 pounds on the sled with just Buck pulling.Buck struggled a lot,but didn't want to let John down.He pulled even harder and harder, and finally the sled moved!Buck is as strong as 10 dogs combined. This event leads to Bucks last metamorphosis because he knows he has the strength to kill a moose and the Indians. This is juxtaposition, since the rock is bi
  • John Saves Buck, Buck Saves John

John Saves Buck, Buck Saves John
Hal cocked his arm back with anger, and all Buck could do was sit there and whimper. Buck slowly opened his eyes in fear, but saw John wrestling Hal in the snow. John has saved Buck! At this moment, Buck realized that he could love someone again. Also whenever John was in trouble Buck would be there to save John, and Buck did that when he pulled John out of the freezing River. This leads to Bucks Metamorphosis when he kills his first man.Human-dog love is a motif which can be seen in Old Yeller.
  • The Yehatts Attack

    The Yehatts Attack
Buck was busy taking down a moose, when he heard the call of the wild that told him John was in trouble. He ran back to camp and found John and Hal laying there dead. Buck looked around and saw Indians dancing with victory, so he ran over to them with fury and killed his first man. This is Bucks last metamorphosis, because his full savage beast came out and he killed the noblest game of all, the human being. This event is a allusion, because, during the gold rush Indians would attack camps.
  • Buck Joins a Wolf Pack

    Buck Joins a Wolf Pack
Before John dies,Buck made friends with a little wolf.Buck then went back to the camp to see if John was okay, but he was not.Buck wanted a huge revenge so he could show the yehatts who's boss. After killing everybody in the village,Buck ran into his wolf friend again. For many years later,Buck ran with the wolves and made a whole new breed of wolves that were faster, stronger, and smarter. This event is like the Undergroung Railroad, because Buck ran away with the wolves for freedom.Just like slaves.
  • Buck is the Lengendary Ghost Dog

Buck is the Lengendary Ghost Dog
Years later, Buck dies natural, but before he did something that made him the Legendary Ghost Dog. Buck wanted revenge on the Yehatts, so he destroyed a whole Yehatt Village. Buck might be dead, but his legend still haunts the Alaskan grounds. The legendary ghost is a great motif. This motif can be seen in Scary Movie 4, because a little boy dies and haunts where he lived. Just like Buck does in the Alaskan Wilderness.
