    Leaving by boat
    We are introduced to our main character by showing some items that matter to him. The man and wife stand in the kitchen, staring solemnly. He carefully packs his picture frame and the family walk with him as he leaves. A wife and daughter are left behind in a neighborhood with tentacles looming over their heads. The man leaves by boat with a plethora of others and he's staring at his picture frame on his journey.
  • The Grand Arrival

    The Grand Arrival
    Two statues stand before the boat's stop symbolizing the relationship this city has towards new cultures and new people. Everyone gets off the boat and gets in very long lines to start processing. The main character goes through several inspections and they tag him with several symbols. Then, the man takes a balloon lift through the city, giving him a full view of the buildings covered in intricate patterns and wispy clouds. He lands and we see people on the streets and a different environment.
  • Strange Home

    Strange Home
    The main character moves into his new home. He's instantly confused by the different and complicated machinery. A small alien animal scares the man and leads the main character to try to chase him away. Eventually, the man gives up and unpacks his picture frame showing that he misses them. Again, the art zooms out to show the man from a window in a building with so many people in the same situation.

    Finding a Way Through the City
    The main character walks through the city and sees so many people on the streets. He stops to see people lead their businesses and playing instruments. The entire time, the man is lost and confused. We see different animals and signs in different languages. The main character stops and asks a man for help but struggles to talk to him so he draws a bed symbol and he understands. The other man guides him to a hotel/apartment and he is given a room.
  • Not the Only One

    Not the Only One
    The man leaves his home but he needs help buying a ticket for the boat. A woman helps him and shares her story. They relate over the fact they're both immigrants. Then, he struggles to find bread so the vendor offers him alternatives. The main character shares his story through drawings and the other man explains how he ended up here. He and his wife managed to escape after giants started terrorizing their city. The main character gets invited over for dinner where they prepare food.
  • Bonding Over Dinner

    Bonding Over Dinner
    Over dinner, they prepare and we get insight into the family's life. The composition is similar to the beginning except he's livelier now because it's the start of new instead of saying goodbye.The family shows the man several complex instruments from their culture and in turn, he shows them his paper folding. This scene proves that the main character’s family has hope to assimilate and become part of the city. At the end of the day, they give him a house warming gift by giving him a flower pot.
  • New Friends in Strange Places

    New Friends in Strange Places
    The man tries out different jobs which he struggles to do. He finally finds work in an assembly line where he meets an elderly man and stories are exchanged. This time he shares leaving for war, returning to a destroyed and abandoned town. The older man invites main to join his friends in playing a game. They welcome him and bond because of their shared immigrant experience despite the different circumstances that led them here. The man will be able to accustom himself despite his circumstances.

    The Arrival
    The art shows time passing until winter and the main character expecting response from his family. After several letters, the man's spirits are finally lifted and he awaits their arrival. The family reunites and they settle into their new home. The home looks similar to their previous one but now it's filled with the intricate patterns of the city, the jagged fruits and vegetables, and origami in the shape of their new pet. The girl goes out in excitement instead of confusion.

    The Arrival pt. 2 (I ran out of space)
    A newly arrived immigrant is lost just like the man was before. This time his daughter helps her out and the story comes full circle.
