Billy travels back in time to go see his dads funeral. He hadn't seen Europe or combat yet. This was still in the days of steam locomotives. -

The regimental chaplain's assitant had been killed in action. So when Billy joined the regiment, it was in the process of being destroyed. -

Billy gets drunk at a party where mostly all the people were optometrist. He ends bringing a girl to laundry mat and cheats on his wife. -
Billy meets Kilgore Trout
He sees Trout sending children to a bicicyle route. -
Sick mother
Billy is now forty one years old and he was visiting his decrepit mother ar Pine Knoll, an old people's home he had put her in only a month before. She had caught pnneumonia, and wasn't expected to live but she did live. -
Billy gets KIdnapped by flying saucer
Billy gets a radio show and is telling the story when he got kidnapped. The saucer was from the planet Tralfamadore and he was taken to there planet and put in a zoo. -
Air plane crash
a group of optometrists, with Billy among them, chartered an airplane to fly them from Ilium to an international convection of optometrists in Montreal. The plane crashed on top of Sugarbush Mountain, in Vermont. -
