Took up snowboarding
Shaun became a snowboarder and skater from learning from his brother. He Started at the age of 6 and has never since stopped either. His brother got him on the slopes and thanks to him Shaun became a snowboarder and skateboarder. -
First Contest
Shaun won his first ametuer snowboarding contest at the age of 7 and this showed him and his family what patential he had at such a young age. Shaun loved the competition and it made him want to improve and compete again. -
Meeting a Pro
Shaun was mentored by the famous Tony Hawk at a YMCA skate park. This helped shaun with his skateboarding ability and put his name out there with Tony Hawk's. -
Became Pro
Shaun became known as a profesional snowboarder and skater at the age of 13. He was competing all over the US and was just as Famous as his mentor Tony Hawk. This pushed Shaun White into the spotlight to become recognized and sponsored. -
Winter X- Games
Shaun was in his first winter X-Games and won 8 metals in slope style and was the first athlete to win more than 4 metal in the X-Games. He also won Best Athlete Award of 2002. By now Shaun has metals sponsors and is ready for the Olympics -
Sponsor
Became Sponsored by Target and Buton. This put his face on TV and in stores and also on snowboarding apperel. Everyone wanted the Shaun White apperel and board gear. -
Skateboarding Metal
Shaun won first in the Dew Action Sports Tour Right Guard Open. He was the only skater ever to land the bodyvarial frontside 450. This showed fans that he is extremely talented on snow and in the skate park. -
Winter Olympics
Won the gold metal in mens halfpipe. This was his first apperence in the Olympics and his first metal. His first win being a gold really helped him become World Known not just in the US. -
Stride
Stride Gum began sponsoring Shaun in all advertisments. He had his own comercial and own stride flavor with Shaun white packaging. People all over bought the gum just because he was on the package. -
Olympics
Won the Gold in halfpipe and was voted Fan Favorite Athlete. His wins and suport have now made him a world wide known pro and his popularity continues to grow from people of all ages. He has his own line of clothes to lunch boxes. He even has his very own video game. His Curly red hair is a snowboarding symbol all over the US.
