Yassen Gregorovich told Alex to go to Venice to learn more about his late father. Suddenly, Alex is interested and goes to investigate. -
The Palace
Alex Rider sneaks into the palace during the party to learn more about Scorpia. He encounters a conversation between Ms. Rothman, and Dr. Liebermann, talking about a plan. Alex investigates more, by sneaking into Ms. Rothman's office. He finds a brochure with the company "Consanto Enterprises". Then, he notices that the carpet was a tiger! Just then, a man ran inside and tamed the tiger. He then imprisoned Alex in a cell in the basement only for him to find out they were going to flood it. -
Alex Rider Escapes
Alex realizes the only way to escape is through a broken wooden plank. He swims through it, and is able to reach the other side of the water, in the middle of Venice. -
The Sirenuse Hotel
Alex and Nile drive to the hotel, where Alex finds out he has an extremely luxurious room. He then has dinner with Mrs. Rothman. They talk about his life and Scorpia, before she makes a final proposal to ask Alex to join Scorpia. she lays out how the MI6 hasn't even treated him well, so this is a good option where he would be treated like his father did. She also convinces Alex by showing him that a woman from MI6 that he knew had killed his father. In the end, Alex decides to join Scorpia. -
Consanto Enterprises
Alex decides to investigate his finding of Consanto Enterprises further by sneaking into the highly secured complex. He finds Dr. Liebermann, who is about to call security when Nile, the man who imprisoned Alex earlier in Venice shows up. Interestingly enough, he kills Dr. Liebermann, while Alex was ready for his own death. They take off to go meet Mrs. Rothman, with Alex having many questions. -
Malagosto
Alex is taken to the Scorpia training facility, practically a school for Scorpia students. In the meantime, MI6 gets word that Alex has turned to Scorpia. -
D'Arc talks to Alex
He informs Alex that he is exceptional in his classes except psychology. He wants to send him on a mission to kill Mrs. Jones, the head of MI6, with vengeance. -
Scorpia shows "Invisible Sword"
Scorpia gives a letter to the English Government giving them requirements otherwise they will use "Invisible Sword" on the English backup soccer team that is coming back on a flight from Nigeria. The MI6 provide as much protection but they still die as they are exiting the aircraft. It seemed like a disease, because there were no attackers on board. MI6 is now taking precautions and Scorpia seriously. -
Alex goes on his first mission with Scorpia
Alex goes to the apartment where Mrs. Jones is staying at, and he manages to get past the security guards by dressing up as a pizza delivery man. Then, he gets past a third guard and walks inside Mrs. Jones room. They talk for a bit, but then Alex completes the mission and fires a bullet at Mrs. Jones. Just then, he realizes that there was a bulletproof sheet of glass between him and her. MI6 agents jump in and kidnap Alex. -
Alex turns
Alex is brought to a room to be interrogated. He has a conversation with Alan Blunt, the head of MI6. When he thinks about it, he realizes that he doesn't want to be a part of this world anymore. He wants to live a normal teenage life. He doesn't care of spying anymore. He chooses then to side with the MI6 after they prove to him that Scorpia is going to try "Invisible Sword" on school children in the UK. -
Alex goes undercover
MI6 sends Alex to go to Scorpia and try to find out more about how they are going to launch "Invisible Sword". In meantime, scientists learn that all the school children had vaccines injected with a kind of poison surrounded by a safe piece of gold. When Scorpia sends radioactive waves through the UK, all of that gold will melt and the poison will kill all of the kids. Scorpia and Alex go to a church and Alex finds a hot air balloon that will lift into the air and disperse the radio waves. -
Scorpia is onto Alex
Alex flips a switch on his MI6 made retainer and calls for backup. Then, when he is talking, he accidentally spills that he knew that children are going to be affected when Mrs. Rothman never said that. Alex is in trouble. -
MI6 Backup comes
Just then, MI6 SAS team arrives at the church. Full gunfire emerges and Alex runs to the rope connect the ground to the lifting hot air balloon. Nile sees him, and speeds after him. Once Alex reaches the top, he needs to figure out how to break the radio wave disperser. -
Alex disables the weapon
He broke 1 out of the four cables. There wasn't going to be enough time! Just then, Nile appeared. Alex finally noticed the one thing that was Nile's weakness. He was scared of heights. Alex took one of the sword that Nile threw at him but missed, and cut through the rubber pipe that fed the burner of the balloon. The fireball hit Nile straight in the chest. He then jumped on the Nylon Cord that wasn't able to support his weight. All of the radio dishes and the burner fell out of the balloon. -
Alex gets debriefed and talks to Mrs Jones
Alex has to get debriefed by the MI6 but then he sits down with Mrs. Jones to talk about his father. He learns that his father wasn't actually bad and worked for Scorpia. He was deep undercover for MI6 to go inside Scorpia to get information. His death on the bridge was faked, but somehow, Mrs. Rothman figured that out and sent a bomb in the luggage of a plane with Alex's parents. They died later, but Alex got the sense of relief that his father wasn't part of the enemy. -
Scorpia doesn't forgive
Scorpia never forgave or forgot. When Alex walked out of the debriefing room, Scorpia had a sniper positioned inside one of the building. He took the shot.
