Feyerabend in Highschool
When Feyerabend finally attended school, he "had no idea how other people lived or what to do with them" Since he had no social skills, he threw himself into reading, finding in interest in drama, which was the spark of lifelong interest of philosophy. After graduation he was drafted into the German Arbeitsdienst (Labor service) -
The War
Feyerabend had gone to basic training and returned home only to leave again and become an office by December of 1942 only in his interest to stay alive during the war. Feyerabend mentions he was a fool and treated it as if it was theater. He even gave lectures to officers “historical periods such as the Baroque, the Rococo, the Gothic Age are unified by a concealed essence that only a lonely outsider can understand” -
Post War
After the war Feyerabend went and got a job in the education system being in charge of the entertainment section. Feyerabend returned to Vienna and began attending philosophy lectures and seminars. In august of 1948 he went and met Karl popper, which had already made a name for himself “to provide a forum for the exchange of scholars and ideas and so to prepare the political unification of Europe” -
Return to Vienna
Feyerabend returned to Vienna and decided to stay there where he has translated Poppers The Open Society and its Enemies into German. Popper extended his wishes for Feyerabend to become his assistance in which he declined to become Arthur Pap. Thats where Pap had introduced Feyerabend to Herbert Fiegl a logical empiricist philosopher, known for his debate of scientific realism. -

Feyerabend had published his book in here he had argued there is no special problem of theoretical entities and that they are all hypothetical. YouTube -
Against Method
Lakatos and Feyerabend work together to write a debate article to Poppers "Against Method" naming theirs "The For or Against Method" during this project Lakatos had died ending this project of attacking the rationalist method brought on by him. Feyerabend took a step-in science questioning everything in the scientific world. -
Feyerabend Early years
Feyerabend was born into a middle class family in Vienna, Austria in 1924. He was born during a tough time and spent most of his childhood in his house, didn't have much social skills. This period of time was known that everyone else is a danger to you, which is why he spent a lot of time home alone. -
