Anti-Vietnam War Sentiments
Beginning in 1962, he became very active is politics, main speaking up against the Vietnam war. During the following decade, he spoke out and wrote many essays and short books against the war in Vietnam. He even went to the streets to help protest and was arrested a few times. MIT was also under major pressure from the US government to fire Chomskey, but refused to based on his extensive prominence in linguistics. -

In 1963, Chomskey started helping with a military-sponsored project "to establish natural language as an operational language for command and control." -

Continual fight against war
During his later years of his career, Chomskey received criticism from many of his peers due to his anti-war rhetoric. Instead of backing down, he further championed his cause against war. After 9/11, he openly criticized the US government of continuing a bad foreign policy which entailed military propaganda to ensure benefits for America. He publicly stated that the "war of terror" was just another excuse for the US to get what they want. -
