Malcolm X didn't want to be in the army so he chose to act mentally ill. -
goes to jail for 8-10 years because of robbing and stealing. In that time, he educated himself with books.

Gets moved to Concord Reformatory and converts to the Nation of Islam
He found out about Elijah Mohammad and was impressed by his words. -
He gets out of jail in 6 years instead of 8-10 years and goes to Chicago where he meets Elijah Mohammad.
This is where he got the "X" in his name. -
He moves to Elijah Muhammad's house and become a minister of the Nation of Islam.
He becomes a minister for temple eleven in Boston. -
Changes the place where he ministers to temple seven in New York.
