Macklemore met Ryan Lewis
Ryan Lewis is Macklemore's music partener. Ryan Lewis has changed Macklemore's life in a positive way. He drove Macklemore to be the best he could be, by spending hours with him in the studio and helping him go through his drug/alcohol problem.("Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Find Clarity"). Macklemore seems to of built a strong bond with Ryan over the years of working together. -
Macklemore started a new path
Macklemore has been drug and alcohol free since this day, and doesn't regret the decisions he has made. He now makes better music and he is more popular now than he ever was before. Macklemore believes that he has take the correct path in his life and "wouldn't want it any other way" (Macklemore). -
Rehab
In August 2008, Macklemore admitted himself into rehab for drug addiction and alcoholism. He knew he had a problem because he didn't have a choice on taking the drugs or not. It became a part of his daily routine. If he ever missed a time period his body would crave it (Macklemore). Macklemore is a strong person for being able to admit that he has a problem and face reality on his own. -
Won “Best New Artist” Grammy award
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis won "best new artist" grammy award. They put in so much work to be where they are today. They never had a record deal. They started on their own with no help. ("Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Win Best New Artist") Macklemore and Ryan Lewis became the new stars on their own. This shows how driven and hard working they are. -
food posioning
Macklemore got food poisoning the day of one of his many shows. He was extremely sick and throwing up every 20 minutes. Instead of calling it off like any other artist would do, he went on stage going a 110% as he always would. The only diffference is that he had a bucket on the side of the stage just in case. ("Macklemore Speaks on Drug and Alcohol Addiction on #Swayinthemorning"). This shows how much Macklemore's fan mean to him and how much of a selfless guy he is.
