    King George III was born in London at Norfolk House. He was born two months premature and was expected to die but ended up surviving.

    George III father died in 1751 when he was 12. He then became the Prince of Wales. This is important because this was his first step into royalty.

    George III became the King of Great Britain and Ireland in 1760 when his Grandfather, King George II, died. This is important because this is when George III began his rule as King. He was 22 when he became king.

    King George III inherited an on going war called the Seven years War or The French and Indian War. He worked hard to end it. He taxed the American Colonies to pay off the debt caused by the war which was the beginning of when Americans started to turn against him.

    A year after King George III's coordination, he married Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. They met on the day of their wedding. They end up hitting it off and had 15 kids.

    The Prime Minister of England, George Grenvill introduced the Stamp Act in the American Colonies. This was repealed by the Parliament two years later but this caused the colonies to mistrust Britain and to start turning against King George III even though he did not have much say in taxing of them. The colonies used these acts as propaganda against Britain and King George III.

    When Tea Act was passed on May 10, 1773, colonists were outraged. They complained about taxation without representation. Because of this act, the Boston Tea Party occurred. This caused King George III to become very angry with the Colonists.

    The American Revolution began with the Battle of Lexington and Concord. The next year, America sent over to Britain their Declaration of Independence that stated they were a free and separate nation. It also stated that King George III was tyrant that mistreated the colonies.

    King George III was reluctant to come to terms with his armies defeat at Yorktown. He did not want to end the war. He ended up letting Parliament negotiate a peace treaty with the Colonies with the Treaty of Paris.

    George III suffered a second major fall into insanity in 1804. He then recovered but then fell into insanity for a final time in 1810 and he would not recover this time. A year later his son, future King George IV became Prince giving him an effective role in the War of 1812.

    Death
    George III died blind, deaf and insane. It is thought he might have had a genetic disorder called porphyria. He died in the Windsor Castle in the UK. He is often known as the "mad king who lost America".
