In this letter he told her about how the 27th regiment celebrated christmas & about a man who was killed while they were marching to a new camp.In this letter he writes to her "the only time that they could work was at night to keep from being shot."From this letter that I read I got that Jhon G.& the people that he was working w/ during these times were fighting away from their camp & didnt have alot w/ them but had more disadvantages than the union did. -

The rest of this letter tells about more distruction that the union had done and this made me wonder if they were seperated by regiments and the answer was yes, he was in the 27 reg. -
