Henry Hudson's first exploration happend in 1607. His obective was to find a shorter route to Asia from Europe through the Artic Ocean. He wasn't successful the first time because of the ice burgs in his way. -

In 1609 Henry Hudson went on a voyage to, and this time he was not stopped by the ice. He chose to go on a more sothern route because of rumours of a channel that went by North America. He went through a passage that was not on the map. Although he did find it, he and his crew decided to turn around because he did not believe this was the chanel and they were attacked by a native. -
Hudson meets Hostile Natives
On July 14, Henry Hudson and his crew landed on the coast of Maine and traded with friendly Indians. On July 18, Henry Hudson sailed into George's Harbour where the Half Moon dropped anchor and Henry Hudson made his first visit to the New World. His exploration lasted some days. Contact was made with some native Indians who were referred to in the ship's log as 'savages'. His Last Voyage
Hudson's last voyage lasted for many months, so it went into the year of 1611. He was able to do this voyage thanks to England. When he got to the river he recorded everything he saw. All of this allowed people to know about the river. -
His Final Breath
While on his fourth and final exploration, his crew turned on him. He died of Mutinity, so his crew rebelled against his exploration. His crew left his son, 7 crew members, and Henry alone on a small boat to starve. It is said he died on the boat. -
Hudson River Was Named
The Hudson river was named after Henry Hudson in 1664. When the Dutch and English rediscovered the river, they were arguing about who would own it. Since Henry Hudson was a English man, and he discovereed it, the English won this river. That is how the Hudson River was named.
