The Battle of Kawela is located about 4.5 miles east of the town of Kaunakakai.There a heaua is visible.The battle was between hawaii and molokaiTthe battle was led by Alapainui.The battle lasted about 5 days and as a result oahu got defeated and thousands of warriors died. -
Population Decrease
During 1750 diseases and other sicknesses struck the Hawaiians. THeir population used to be half a million but now its only thirty thousand. Their population decreased only for 50 years. By 1900 their population wasnt even close to half a million. -
Captain Cook
Captain Cook arrived on January 18, 1778. He accidentally discovered Hawaii because he was searching for the Northwest Passage from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. -
Captain Cooks Death
Captain Cook died because of a stolen boat. He tried to take it back by kidnapping a chief. But when he relaesed the chief he was hit with a club then he was stabbed to death. -
Battle of Mokuohai
The Battle of Mokuʻōhai, fought in 1782 on the island of Hawaii, was a key battle in the early days of Kamehameha wars to conquer the Hawaiian Islands. It was his first major victory, having leadership over much of the island.The battleground was just to the south of Kealakekua Bay.At this moment, Kamehameha's forces arrived and, seeing Kiwalao held fast by Keeaumoku, stabbed the king, who collapsed bleeding on top of the ground.This war lead to the unification of hawaii. -
Kalani'opu'us Death
After Kalaniopuu death the two group of cheifs are formed.On one side were the cheifs of Kona who Kamehameha joined.On the other side was his uncle,Keawemauhili,young king Kiwala and his half brother Keoua.The two sides were at war, Kamehameha forces won, and Kiwala was killed. Kamehameha split Hawaii into different areas of the islands. -

Kemehameha Ruled The Islands
Kamehameha's people honored him as a great King. He was a sacred King to his people. Kamehameha was kapu he was a might warrior and the hioghest chief and he was the most sacred realm of Lono. -
Fair American Captured
Isaac Davies and John Young got captured. Isaac Davies was a survivor of The Fair American that got attacked by Kame'eiamoku. John Young from the ship Eleonara was left behind by Simon Metcalfe.
Both of them became an advisor for King Kamehameha. -
Pu'ukohala Heiau was completed.
The Pu'ukohala Heiau was completed during 1791. It was built for Kamehameha's war god. Kamehameha had a meeting there with Keoua. After Keoua left the Heiau he got killed by Ke'eumoku one of Kamehameha's warriors. Keoua's body got sacrifised to the war god of the Heiau. -
Battle of Nu'uanu
The Battle of Nu'uanu took place in Oahu. King Kamehameha landed by Diamond Head and Waikiki. They fought until Kamehameha’s men scattered Oahu’s defenders into two directions, one group to Pearl Harbor, the other group into the mountains. The last stand of Oahu’s soldiers was made by 300 warriors on a Pali in Nu'aunu Valley. Kamehameha's warriors didn't stop till the Oahu warriors fell of the Pali. The chief escaped but later captured. -
Kamehameha Attemps To Attack Kaua'i
Kamehameha sailed to Kaua'i to conquer the Island. He had more than 800 peleleu canoes. The peleleu canoe is often a doubled-hulled canoe. But strong winds and rough seas sank many of the canoes. So he had to stop the attack of Kaua'i. -
Māmalahoe Kānāwai
The Law of the Splintered Paddle or Māmalahoe Kānāwaib was made when kamehameha tried to attack fishermens and children by the beach. Then they got into a fight and he got hit in the head. So he made a law that protects the weak from the strong. -
Russian Fort
The Russias landed on Kauai in 1804. They were allies of the people of Kauai. They traded for food and guns. The Russians gave then metal and other things. They also help defend Kauai from King Kamehameha's attacks. -
Kaumualii makes agreement with Kamehameha
Kamehameha was about to attack Kaua'i but diseases spread through his warriors. So he had to postpone the attack again. But in 1810 Kamehameha and Kaumuali'i, ruler of Kaua'i and Ni'ihau, met in Honolulu. They both agreed to place the two islands under the rule of King Kamehameha until King Kaumuali'i dies. Thats when for the first time all the islands were united by one ruler. -
The SandalWood Trade
The SandalWood Trade started on 1790. Sea Captains sends their crew to find the wood. In 1805 the became an important export. During 1818 the wood become a trading good of America but Hawaii mostly trated with China. -
King Kamehameha Banned the Kapu System
The kapu system in Hawai'i established rules and regulations that provided safety for others and land. -

The reign of Liholiho was known for the end of the Kapu system. But the system was brought back by Kamehameha III. -
Death of The Kauai Head Chief
When Kaumualii went to Honolulu he became the husbabd of Ka'ahumanu. But after he died his lands were re divided by high ranking Chiefs. -
Death of Liholiho
On July 15 Liholiho died of measels and depression o=because of his favorite wifes death. On september missionaries rode a ship called blonde they had the king and queens body inside. -

Arrival of Missionaries
Sailing in the Thaddeus, 14 missionaries (seven mission couples) and four Hawaiian boys left Boston, funded by the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions. They arrived in Hawai'i after 164 days. -
First Plantation
Sugar Mill of Koloa was built in 1835 by Ladd and Co. In 1836 8,000 of sugar and molasses was shipped to the United States. -
The Great Mahele
The Great Mahale was an act that allowed private ownership of land for the first time. Lands historically controlled by the king and other ali`i were formally divided and commoners were given an opportunity to claim their traditional family (kuleana) lands. Due in part to different cultural notions of property, many claims were never established and foreigners were able to acquire large tracts of land. -
Princess Bernice Bishop made a School
Princess Bernice Pauahi made a School. The school was called Kamehameha School. She built those Schools around the islands.
