    Professor inquiry

    Reichenbach became a candidate for the professorship in the philosophy of physics in Berlin but there was strong opposition to his appointment. His views had become known when he was politically active in his student days and someone with these views who was as outspoken as Reichenbach was certainly not acceptable to many in Germany at this point. However he had a major figure who supported his appointment with great vigour, namely, Einstein.

    After school

    After completing his Doctorate, Reichenbach served for 30 months in the Signal Corps of the Germany Army. Which by this time was heavily engaged in fighting on several different fronts during the World War 1. He was sent to the Russia front where he contracted a severe illness.He was sent back to Berlin where in 1917 he was one of five persons who attended Einstein's first course on relativity.

    Schooling

    Hans attended Primary and Secondary schools in Hamburg Germany. Left school in 1910 with the intention of becoming an engineer, entered the University of Stuttgart, taking engineering courses. However his interests moved towards more theoretical aspects of science and he left Stuttgart in 1911 after a year of study and took mathmatics, physics, and philosophy courses at Berlin, Munich, and Gottingen. In 1915 Hans received his Doctorate from the University of Erlangen.

    Born September 26th 1891 in Hamburg German, to Bruno Reichenbach and Selma Menzel.He was one of five children Bruno and Selma had. He was the founder of the Berlin Circle. Proponent of logical Positivism (also known as Neo-positivism or logical empiricism).
