Guy meets Clarisse
Guy is coming home from his job as a fireman. As he is walking alone along the street at night, he turns a corner and almost runs into Clarisse. He describes her as a big free thinker and that she asks a lot of questions. Which can be very dangerous in that times society. -
Guy meets Faber
Guy is at a park and meets a man named Faber, who is obviously reading poetry. Guy tells him that he won't turn Faber in, but Faber is still suspicious. Faber is a former english professor and knows a lot about books. -
Clarisse dies
Guy comes home to her that Clarisse has died by getting hit by a speeding car. He feels awful because she was his best friend that made im see the world a completely different way. -
Burning the old woman
Guy and the other firemen get called to an old woman's house full of books. They douse the books with kerosene, but the old woman won't leave her house and her books. So eventually after a dispute, she lights the fire herself and chooses to go down with her books. -
Mildred finds the book
Mildred finds the book under Guy's pillow while the fire cheif is in his house explaining that all firemen get curious about books, and that he has 24 hours to explore them, then burn them. -
Guy learns about the bible
Guy thinks he is special because he thinks he has the last copy of the bible in existence. It turns out he doesnt and he is wrong. -
Mildred turns Guy in
Mildred tells the fire cheif about Guy's hidden books. Then, the fire cheif makes him burn his books and they set a mechanical hound after him to watch him. -
Guy plans to take down the firemen
Guy comes up witha plan to plant books in all the firemens houses to show that the job is useless and to get the mechanical hounds off his tail. -
Going after Guy
The firemen go after Guy and they put another mechanical hound on his tracks after he burns the first one. They also send a tv crew and a helicopter after him. -
Guy meets new friends
Guy meets a group of book lovers who are a part of a much larger group scattered across the nation. They help him escape the mechnical hound and the tv crews and everything else. -
The city is bombed
Guy watches the city get bombed to rubble by the enemy in the war that was just declared. Montag and his friends go to look for survivors and rebuild civilization.
