George William Frederick was born in 4th June 1738 in London in the Hanover's house. -

Reign
He became heir to the throne when his father died because of a lung ilness. He started his reign in 1760 when he was 22 and he reigned until he died. -
Marriage
He got married with Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz whom he first met on his wedding day in 1761 but unfortunately in 1818 she died. They got ten sons including George IV, who became later the successor of huis father, and six daughters. -
Beginning of his reign
At the beginning of his reign he became very popular because he could speak with ordinary people, so he earned respect. He was shy and stubborn but well educated in science and arts. -
Treaty of Paris
George III signed the Treaty of Paris where he accepted the American Independence after years of war. -
Death, burial and successor
George III death in 1820 after a reign of almost 60 years which becomes the third longest in British history. On 16 February 1820 the corpse was buried in the Windsor Castle. He was succeeded by his son George IV.
