After getting out and paying for the cab, he goes to Ernie’s Jazz club and sits at a table ordering drink watching the other customers. He sees his older brother’s, D.B. ex-girlfriend, Lillian Simmons. -
"Sunny" the Prostitute
back at the hotel, the elevator boy asks Holden if he wants a prostitute for $5. She later arrives at this door, where he tries to have a conversation with her. Afterward, she charges him $10, which he refuses to pay so she gets her pimp to beat him up and take the $10 -
Breakfast with two nuns.
After arranging a date with an old girlfriend, Sally Hayes, Holden eats breakfast at a sandwich bar where he talks to two nuns are Shakespeare's “Romeo and Juliet” afterwards he gives them $10 then leaves. -
Holden and Sally’s Date
Holden and Sally go to a play and the afterplay where she’s talks to another guy. Then they both go ice skate and after a while they sit down. Holden tries to explain to her why he was unhappy at school but she doesn’t listen. -
Holden sneaks home
he sneaks into his parents apartment to talk to his little sister Phoebe. He tells her he got kicked out of school which makes her mad, then he tell her his fantasy about being “the catcher in the rye” a person who catches children playing in the rye as they’re about to fall off a cliff. -
Mr.Antolini’s Apartment
Holden goes to his former english teacher’s apartment telling about him getting expelled and wanting advice about his future. Holden’s put to sleep on the Antolini’s couch, but he later wakes up to Mr. Antolini stroking his forehead, gets scared and leaves. After that he sleeps on a bench in Grand Central Station for a hours. -

Holden visits Phoebe’s school and leaves a note saying he’s running away from home and that she should meet him at lunch at the museum. Phoebe arrives with a suitcase full of clothes wanting to go with him. After arguing with her, he decides to stay. -
Holden, Phoebe and the Carousel
they go to the zoo then the park, where he watches her ride the carousel in the rain twice. He becomes so happy watching his little sister he’s almost to cry.
