Diego Maradona was born in a small town named Lanus near Buenos Aires in Argentina. He was born on October 30th 1960 to Diego Sr and Dalma Maradona.

Youth Football
At the age of eight, Maradona joined a local youth team called Los Cebollitas, where he quickly gained a reputation for his skills on the pitch. Pro Football
In 1981 Diego Maradona signed for his first professional football team. He signed for Argentinian giants Boca Juniors. After spending a year at Boca Juniors he signed for Spanish team Barcelona for a record fee of £5.6 Million. He spent 2 years at Barcelona winning trophies and scoring goals. The Best Footballer In The World
After Barca he made a move to Italian side Napoli for a fee of £6.9 Million. He became a great player at napoli scoring many goals and even winning multiple trophies. He spent 7 years at napoli before returning to Argentina in 1993. A World Cup winner

Retirement
In 1995 Diego decided to go back to Argentina to play for Newell’s Old Boys. After spending 2 years in Argentina retired after an excellent career scoring almost 250 goals for club and country. He also assisted his teammates over 100 times. -
Coaching
After a decade without a career Maradona started to coach football. Without any experience the Argentinian board selected him as head coach in 2008. He coached them for 2 years including the 2010 World Cup which Argentina lost to rivals Germany in the quarter - finals. Death
In early November Maradona had to undergo surgery for a subdural haematoma a few weeks prior to his death. He died of a cardiac arrest in late November 2020 aged 60.
