David Pelzer was born into the world. -
Happy Family
Daivd was a very happy young boy. He had a great life with his mother, father and two brothers. He did not yet recivice abuse from his mother. David's favourite child memory was going on a trips not far from Johnsons Beach. -
Drinking
Daivd's happy life came to an end when his mother started drinking. The more she drank
This caused his mother and father to fight more, which lead her to relase her anger on Daivd. This is the first of many beatings he recieves. -
Ouch
After David's mother had a few drinkings she would beat him. This became a regular occurance. Once his mother popped his arm out of place and claimed he had fallen out of his bed. -
Burns
On terrible incident taht happened to David was being burnt. His mother forced him to put his arm on the stove when nobody was home. To her, burning his arm was not enough. She then tired to make David lay on top of the stove, but time ran out and David's brother came home. -
Summer Time
David soon realizes that he misses school now that he is at home regularly with his mother. David did not like school very much so this shows how terrible being at home was to him. -
Starving
Daivd's mother begins to starve him as a punishment. This leads David to steal food from kids in his class or at the store. Once his mother finds out about this she makes him eat ammonia and Clorox as well as dish soap. This is the start to many evil schemes. -
The Last Trip
Daivd and his family take their annual vacation to the Russian
River. This was Daivd's favourite place to be. But this time, Daivd's mother beats him, and not let him see daylight while everyone else is having fun. David begins to feel his family falling apart when his brothers and even his father does not care mother is doing this to him. -
Isolated
David becomes isolated from the family. He is not allowed to see them unless he is doing chores his mother assigned him. Daivd spends his days and nigths in the cold and dark basement. He is ordered to sit on the step until mother calls his name. David is now known as "the boy" to his family, and is not even considered apart of it. -
The Stabbing
David's mother had too much to drink one night and while in a rage she accidently stadbed him with a knife. She lost her balance and the knife went flying dicretly into David's stomach. She then realizes what had happened, and comforted him. Though in extereme pain he is happy that he feels her love again. -
The Games
David's mother loved to play "games" with him. One of her favourties was a mix of Clorox and amonia. It created a gas that you could die from. David was locked in the bathroom with a bucket of it sitting in the cornor. Another game she liked was placing himin the bath tub in ice cold water for hours on end. -
Dark Skies
David become very depressed and starts to hate everything about life. He feels there is no reason to live anymore. After David's father moves out of the house, they stop by his motel room to drop off the rest of his thigns. When David sees his father for what could be the last time, he find renewed hope to keep holding on, knowing one day life willl get better -
Leaving
David's mother had a cruel cycle of beating her son that lead David's father stopped coming home as much. He would work more just to get out of the crazed house. But when David's father is absent, his mother becomes the devil and creates new cruel plans and games. -
The End
At the end of this book, the author leaves you wondering what happend to the boy. There are many different questions you have at the end. This is because he has written a trilogy you have to read to get his whole life story.
