Michael joined the NBA and started to play. A lot of people thought he was just another drafted player but soon he would prove them wrong. -

he started getting recognition from a decent amount of people and showed them that he was good at basketball even at the highest level. -

this is when he was still playing at a high level but wasn't decreasing in popularity or gaining popularity. It didn't mean he was good its just he wasn't getting better and his skills were getting a bit repetitive -
decline
he started not playing as much due to injury and was losing his skill to the younger newer players. He was still an amazing player with raw skill but it wasn't the standard anymore. -
decision point
he understood that he wasn't getting any younger and he was 40 now so he wanted to retire but he would still stay a big part of the NBA by being a share holder of the hornets basketball team
