He was asked to do a show and it didn't take much convincing. He potrayed a western folk hero and it was a man much like himself. The play was called, "The Scouts on the Prairie". While doing all this acting stuff, he still was scouting and guiding hunts. -
Receives Medal of Honor
He received the medal of honor for his brave efforts and dangerous tasks against the Indian resistance. This medal was, unfortunately, revoked in 1916. This was due to a new thing where persons who received the medal but never served official military service. In 1986, after his death, he was re-awarded the medal.
