Atahualpa was born in Quito, Ecuador. His parents were Huayna Capac and Paccha Duchicela. Huayna Capac was the Inca ruler at that time. -

Huayna Capac, Atahualpa's father, died from a plague. The plague was most likely smallpox which was brought to the New World by Spanish conquistadors. Since Huayna was the Inca ruler, either Atahualpa or his brother Huascar had to be the Inca empire. -

In 1532 a lot of Atahualpa's people died. They died because they were killed. They were killed in the Battle of Cajamarca. The spanish killed his Counsellors, commanders, and unarmed attendants. -

A tiny bit later, November 1532, Atahualpa filled his prison cell with golden objects to try to buy his freedom. The Spaniards took the gold, yet Francisco worried about what would happen to him and his troops if he were to let him go. -

1533, during and after the Inca leader, Atahualpa, died, the Inca was willing to accept Christianity and to be baptized. Francisco Pizarro even then forced them into Christianity and to be baptized and sent treason to them. -
