Government Builds New Houses
As an illeagal third childliving on a secleded farm, Luke had always had a way to play outside. Eventually however, the government took some of the (last name) land, cut down many of the surrounding trees and begins to build houses for very wealthy people. -
Luke Must Live In the Attic
Because he no longer has privacy,and cannot be seen when outside, Luke must begin to live in the attic. It is too dnagerous for him to live in his old room with his brothers beacuse while his parents are out, one of the neighbors might see him and report it to the Population Police. -
Luke Sees A face in One of the Houses
A few months after living in the attic, Luke made a habit of watching his neighbors leave their houses through a vent. He always kept count to make sure everybody left. One day after everyone left, Luke saw another face peeking from one of the windows and wonders if one of the wealthy families has a third child as well. -
Luke fianlly sneaks over to the House
After a while of debating on whether or not he should sneak over to the house and meet the thrid child, Luke decided that he should go and meet her. So once his father went out to work on the crops, Luke snuck out and crawled through the bushes until he reached the house. -
Luke Breaks in
Finally, after a long journey, Luke gets to the house, but the back door is locked so he is forced to break the screen door. Jen sees him and interrogates him. -
Jen pressures Luke
After meeting Luke, Jen immediately starts to pressure him to going to a rally she is leading for the rights of third children. -
Luke tells Jen the Truth
After a few months of planning, Luke told Jen that he could not risk goiong to the rally and being caught. His parents would be devastated and he did not have the courage to do what she was doing. -
Jen Apologizes
after Luke told Jen he couldn't go to the rally, they got into an argument, and right before Jen left for it, she stopped by at night and apologized for the pressure she put on him. -
Luke find out the Truth
Luke noticed that a long time went by and Jen had still not returned, so he snuck over to her house again. There he finds her father who told him that all thirty kids attending the rally were shot and killed by the government, including Jen. -
Luke Must Leave
On the day Luke found out Jen had died, he was almost caught by the government. Jen's father helped him not to get caught however, and he was forced to get a fake I.D. and run away so he could not be caught.
