This was the first time Ishmael was touched by the war. He was twelve and leaving his home town not knowing he would never return.

Ishmael and his group of friends were in a camp for 3 months until the rebels came and destroyed everything they workd hard for.

Ishmael and his group of friends come across a man named Gasemu who tells them their family is in a near by village. When arrived they find the burnt village that had been attacked by the rebels.

A few days after arriving in the village Ishmael and his friends were told to take part in the war or they would be kicked out. The first time he killed a man he had flash backs of all the people he had seen killed during the war.
