  • Chapter 1

    1. Winston Smith is met as he is retuning to his home complex called Victory Mansions. He has just bought a diary, which is illegal according to Big Brother. Winston works in the Records department this is where he is when the 2 Minutes Hate comes on and he and everyone else go for lack of a better term go crazy. He rights in his diary DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER three times. diary DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER three times.

  • Chapter 2

    1. Winston starts off helping his neighbor by fixing her kitchen sink. We learn about Tom Parsons who is devoted to the Party, and his children are seen as they launch an attack against Winston. Which Winston explains that everyone is afraid of their children. Winston rights in his diary about how children will turn against their parents.

  • Chapter 3

    1. Winston is having a dream in a place he calls the Golden Country. When Winston wakes up he is thinking of Shakespeare. He has to exercise after waking he begins thinking of his dream and his past that the Party tries so hard to erase.
