Trench life
The soldiers were do basic chores, play card games, and write letters to home. In these trenches, there were rats, lice, dead bodies, and trench foot. -
Christmas Break
During christmas in 1914, Some German and British soldiers agreed to stop the war for a couple of days to sing songs and play soccer. After this little break , they went back to fighting . -
Trench Foot
During World War 1 , it rained inside of the trenches, and wearing water soak boots and socks for months starts to rot away your foot.
Soldiers foot were sometimes amupatied . -
Animals In WW1
Horses, Dogs ,Hawks, Pigeons, and Goldfish was used in the war.They each had different purposes.
Goldfish were used when they cleaned the mask , they then put the goldfish into the rise water, and if killed the Goldfish , then there was still poison on the masks. Horses was used during the war and even now. Hawks and pigeons were used to send messages . Dogs detected mines and lifted the soldier's spirit up. -
The Start of a Great War
The war began in 1914 and what truly set it off is the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. After years of tension between Europe , The Duke and his wife from Austro-Hungarian, got assassinated by a group name the Black Hand. -
The Beginning of the Teams
They soon have began different sides . The allies were Britain , France, Russia, and Italy . The Central was Austria , Germany, Bulgaria , and the Ottoman Empire. Americans soon joined the allies . -
Summer war
The First war started in Summer and lasted for four years. They lived most of it in trenches or in stalemate. The soldiers were fire from the trenches. -
Spilling Tea
America was neutral until in 1915, the Germans sank the British ship ‘Lusitania’ with their submarine. There were 10,000 Americans on that ship. -
Time to Hunt for Some Germans
Germany sent a telegram to Mexico saying if they help out Germany with the war , they would help Mexico get their territories, Arizona,New Mexico, and Texas back .The British intercepted this telegram and told America about it. We were furious and joined the war on the Alli side. -
Setting the Stage
In June 28,1919,the Treaty of Versailles was signed and ended World War 1 . But unfortunately ,it set the stage for World War 2. -

My veteran had a wife named Anne and a son. He often sent them letters. He wrote about them and the war in his diaries. He talks about the rain and the days he spent in the trenches. -

He had a wife named Anne and a son as well. He has a nickname for his wife, it’s An. He left his family on the day of January 2nd, 1943. He was a colonel. He was in the 24th, 4th, and 15th Infantry, He wrote stories about his journeys and wrote many longing letters to his wife. -
Letters
He sent over 100 letters to wife and his family during the times of 1943-1947.In one of his letters , he writes about the night sky and how pretty it is . He tells her that he has dreams about her and thinks its a good omen. One of the day, it rain and he said it was miserable . -
Good times?
In his journal , he talks about things like how the rain made mud . He also talks about he sleeps . Sometimes he gets good sleep . -
Bad Times
In one of his letters, he watched his best friend died in front of his eyes. He tells his wife about the horrors in the trenches. How there is a lot of screams in the daytime and sometimes at night as well.
