Education of Thomas Kuhn
He completed high school at The Taft School in Watertown, CT in 1940. It is there that he learned of his interests in mathematics and physics. He achieved a BS in physics from Harvard University in 1943. He also achieved a MS and PHD in physics at Harvard University in the years 1946-1949. -
The Copernican Revolution
This was Thomas Kuhns first book release. It discussed the Copernican Revolution. In the book he also cites the very important work of Newton, Aristotle, and Copernicus. -
The Structure of Scientific Revolutions
Thomas Kuhn first released a monograph named, The International Encyclopedia of Unified Science. He later released it as a second edition book called, The Structure of Scientific Revolutions in 1962. In the book he introduced paradigms and the phases leading in to a paradigm shift or scientific revolution. The phases were known as, pre-science, normal science, model drift, model crisis, model revolution, and then the paradigm shift. -
Marriage
Thomas Kuhn was first married to Kathryn Muhs in 1948, but was later divorced in 1978. He had three children with Kathryn named Sarah, Elizabeth, and Nathaniel. He was later married in 1981 to Jehane Barton Burns in 1981. -
Death of Thomas Kuhn
