The inca migrated to Cusco Valley. They were led by Manco Capac. Their capital was established at Cusco. Cusco is in Peru. -

Manco Capac’s son, Sinchi Roca, took over the throne after his father died. He created an army of people who belonged to the nobility cast. The uniforms that his army wears intimidates enemies. Also, he is credited for building the first canal in the Huatanay and Tullumayo rivers. -

Yahuar Huaca became the seventh inca ruler of Cusco. When he was a child he was kidnapped be the Ayarmacas because of a conflict. Yahuar Huaca was assassinated by one of his concubines who wanted her son to be Sapa Inca. His sons were assassinated along with him. -

For 20 years there was no successor to the throne after Yahuar Huaca and his sons were assassinated. So, the committee of elders appointed Huiracocha to conquer. He conquered the tribes of Yucaya and Calca. Then he surrendered Cusco to Chancas. -

Pachacutec could not be designated sapa inca until he had defeated the Chanca’s. He also converted the inca tribe into a whole empire. Then he expanded the empire in all directions. -

The Chimu were defeated by Pachacutec and his son Tupac Yupanqui. After they defeated the Chimu, they took over lands in the North which is now Ecuador and Columbia. He was then considered the greatest sapa inca. -

Pachacutec stepped down at the end of 1471. Then 2 years later he died and his son took his place. Tupac, the new sapa inca, carries on his father’s expansionist policies and expands south into Chile, Bolivia, and northern Argentina. -

Tupac Inca died and his son, Huayna Capac, became the new sapa inca. For the next 30 years Huayna Capac expanded the Inca realm further. He spent many years solidifying Inca rule in Ecuador. -

Huayna Capac died possibly of smallpox. His two sons fought over the power of being sapa inca. While the brothers fought, the inca population was decreasing due to smallpox. -

The new viceroy of peru, Francisco Toledo, declared war on vilcabamba. The very last sapa inca, Tupac Amaru, was captured. Then, the spaniards took him and that was the end of the inca empire.
