The story starts with our young Protaganist Santiago waking up in a church. He is a shepard and has a flock of sheep with him. That night he had a recuring dream. A dream where h is taken to the pyrimids. That dream tells him of his personal legend and how he has to go to the pyrimids, he doesn't know it yet though.

Refusal to Call

Dec 17, 1470

When he goes to a city he is passing through he gets his dream interputed by a gypsy women. He does not believe the women and loses trust in gypsies. The women does get him to promise her one tenth of his treasure. Thinking there is no treasure Santiago accepts the offer.

Supernatural Aid

Mar 17, 1471

Santiago thinking nothing of the dream takes a seat on the bench. He begins reading the new book he traded for his older one. As he does a old man comes and sits next tioo Santiago and strikes up a coversation. When the old man has Santiago's attention he explains that the dream and tells him that the treasure is his personal legend.

Crossing First Threshold

Jun 27, 1471

Santiago believs the old man. The old man assked Santiago for one tenth of his sheep for payment of the knowledge that wazs given. That helps Santiago in the end because he ends up selling the sheep to a friend allowing him to chase his personal legend. Having no obligations give Santiago the freedom to leave the area to chase the treasure.

Belly of the Whale

Nov 15, 1471

Santiag enters the whales belly by taking a ferry ride across the straight of Gibraltar. It is also part of entering the whale when the boy gets a job with a crystal merchant and begins the have obligations there.

Road of Trials

Apr 27, 1472

The trials the boy faces is generating enough money to fund a trip across the desert. He has to work with the crystal merchant for nearly a year untill he had enough money. He then has the tests of the deserts to push through and the tests of the oasis.

Metting the Goddess

Sep 19, 1472

In the oasis Santago is helping his friend to look for a alchemist. While asking people he sees a beautiful women who helps him on his journey. He falls in love with her immediatly. She also loves him. Their relationship grows and becomes more connected.

Tepmtation

Jan 18, 1473

When he is faced with a decision to leave the oasis he is stumped. He either chases his personal legend or stays with the love of his life. When she tells him that she wants him to go and fel free but remembe to come back to her he is relieved.

Atonement With The Father

Jul 17, 1473

This is when Santiago revisits the teaching of the old king. He remembers his sayings such as "when someone is chasing their personal legend the universe conspires in every way possible to make it happen. He also remembers the stones the old man give him. They are powerful in the world of omens.

Apostasis

Oct 17, 1473

This is when Santiago has to leave Fatima. He realizes what love is and doesn't want to let go of the feeling. He is also scared that she might not wait for him if he takes too long. He is finnaly convinced by the Alchemist to continue with his personal legend.

The Ultimante Boon

Jan 17, 1474

When santiago finally turns himself into the wind when he is in the desert with the Alchemist at the army camp. His life is on the line and he speaks to the desert, the wind, and the sun. When he finnaly discovers how to change to the wind he is allowed to leave with the Alchemist.

Refusal of Return

Jul 17, 1474

When Santiago finnaly discovers that he has learned the language of the world he is still searching for his treasure. He is finnaly able to travel in harmoney with the soul of the world. And because he can do that he is at peace with the world.

Magic Fight

Dec 17, 1474

This is when Santiago is beaten by the homeless and gets his gold taken away. He does not want to tell them of the treasure but he does in order to save his life. They do not believ him but one of the muraders shares a secret of great importance. He says he had a dream of a place of hidden treasure where Santiago has been before.

Rescue from Without

Mar 17, 1475

This is when Santiago reveals that he is searching for treasure. It is a good thing the mauraders do not believe him. They think he is crazy and leave him to it. But not without telling him of a dream he once had about treasure he had once had about a church that Santgiago has slept in before.

Crossing the Return Threshold

Sep 17, 1475

This is when Santiago sees that the pyrimids are laughing at him and that they aretelling him "I told you so". He retrievs the gold left for him with the monk and heads back to the abandoned church to aquire his treasure.

Master of Two Words

Dec 17, 1475

This is when Santiag sparks up a coversation with the wind about it knowing all along that the treasure was in the church. The wind says he wanted him to see how beautiful the pyrimids are. Santiago then laughs and digs up the treasure.

Freedom To LIve

Mar 17, 1476

This is when Santiago achieves peace with the world and returns to Fatima To live out the remainder of his life. They are very wealthy and he does not forget to repay the gypse lady he owes one tenth of the treasure to.
