This is a political issue because the agreement was passed through congress. However: the issue was also a social problem because it involved the slaves who at the time were not considered people but now they are.

    Nat Turner, a slave, led a rebellion killing about sixty white men. After, they were captured and killed. This is both political and social because the problem involves people and the blacks were killing white people because they were upset with them. At the same time, the problem was political because the government allowed slaves in their terriory.
