Ratification of the Constitution
On September 17th, 1787, The delegates of Congress aproved the Constitution. This important day in history marked the day we truly became a nation. Furthermore, this also put our government and law into effect, making us a true country. -
Uncle Tom's Cabin
Abolitionist writer Harriet Beacher wrote and published Uncle Tom's Cabin in 1852 to protest the Fugitive Slave Act, passesd in 1850. This law said that slaves could be arrested without a warrant, and had no right to a trial. Instead, every case was ruled on by a Federal Commisioner. Bleeding Kansas
Bleeding Kansas occured in March, 1855, when the elections were taking place in popular sovereinty state Kansas. Proslavery settlers moved illegaly into Kansas and voted against Anti-Slavery settlers. This led to the Looting of Lawrence, Kansas, because the Anti-Settlers rejected the government and the Proslavery settlers did not agree with that. McDougal Littell, C: 2008 -
Raid of Harper's Ferry
On October 16th, 1859, John Brown, an abolitionist and an extremist, staged an assault on the Harper's Ferry Federal arsenal in the early hours of the morning. He led a band of 13 whites and 5 blacks into the compound, capturing the arsenal, but they did not hold out long. Robert E. Lee led U.S. Marines into the Harper's Ferry arsenal, killing 10 men and capturing John Brown plus 5 others. John Brown was tried for murder and treason against the state of Virginia, and was later hanged. -

Lincoln's Assasination
The assassination of Abraham Lincoln This was the day John Wilkes Booth fatally shot our 16th President. It was 1865 at Ford's Theatre when Lincoln was killed. This did not affect our country, but made us grieve the loss of a great president. -
The Stock Market Crash of 1929
The Stock Market Crash of 1929 was devastating to most Americans. Investors had large sums of money in the stocks, because they were doing well, 80% above adverage. Then in March of 1929, the stock markets rocketed downward 80%, leaving investors with nothing. This event in history led to more banking laws and better safekeeping of our money. -

on two fronts when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and when Germany invaded Poland. This war was one of the blodiest battles in all of history and also created the United Nations, a peace-keeping organization. -

This was when Germany and etc. declared war on some on Europe and America. It was when in 1914 when an assassination triggered a war. This does not affect our daily lives unless The Axis (Germany, Etc.) won. -
Japan Attacks Pearl Harbor
On this date the Japanese attacked the United States Naval base in Hawaii bringing the United States into World War II against the Axis Powers of Germany, Italy and Japan. The United States would fight with Britain and the Soviet Union making up the Allied Powers. -
Bombing of Hiroshima
The Bombing of Hiroshima During World War II, The United States bombed Hiroshima in order to pause and stop the war. It was August 6, 1945 when America took about 20,000 tons of explosives on Hiroshima in order to gain advantage in World War II. It could have possibly changed our world if we didn't bomb them. They might have won the war if we didn't do this. -
Korean War
The Korean War was the war between American and the North Korean. It was on Jun 25th, 1950, when North Korea declared war on South Korea and America. After three years in July, All of the sides agreed for peace. It could be important because if North Korea won, they would gain more power, they are aggressive at North America now, so imagine if they won. -

The Inauguration of John F. Kennedy on January Twentieth, 1961, was an important day in American History. Kennedy was inaugerated just in time to lead the country through the Cuban Missle Crisis. He also was good under pressure and a good speaker, giving our country hope in the darkest of times. -

The AFC/NFL Championship game, featureing the Green Bay Packers hosing the Kansas City Chiefs, will long be remembered as one of the greatest football games of its time. In fact, the game was so amazing, it became known as the 'Super Bowl'. That is where the Super Bowl got its name from. The 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center was a devastating attack coordinated by Al-Queda. In this attack, Al-Queda opperatives hijacked four Boeing 747's, American Airlines Flight 11, United Airlines Flight 175, American Airlines Flight 77, and United Airlines Flight 93. Two were flown into the North and South Trade Center Towers, one was flown into the Pentagon, and another crashed in a field in Shanksville, PA.
