Born in Florida, Missouri. He was the son of Jane and John Clemens and was the sixth child to be born out of seven. But only 3 of his siblings survived. -

When Samuel Clemens was 11, his father died of pneumonia, then in 1851 he became a typesetter, which is just like a journalist except for he did the humor comics in the Hannibal Newspaper, which was owned by his brother,Orion. His Mom and Dad had 7 kids total, most of which died (3 of his siblings survived) -
