Montezuma II reigned as leader from 1502-1520 as the 9th aztec leader. He was 36 when he first reigned. He was 54 years old until he no longer reigned as leader. -

Montezuma II defeated his uncle Ahuitzotl March 5 1502. As he reigned the aztec empire reached its greatest size. He started expeditions and conquest as emperor. -

October 2 1502 Montezuma II began to be more and more harsh. A rebellion in the provinces of Nopallan and Ixpantepec took place, this let Montezuma II show his talent and abilities witch put him in the spot of a harsh leader. -

The Birth of Isabella
January 1st 1509 montezuma's daughter Isabella was born. After her father passed, Isabel married her uncle, Cuitláhuac, who then became emperor. Cuitláhuac was ruler for only 80 days because he then died of smallpox. -

The Trespassing
In 1510 the Maya turned and faced revolts toward Montezuma’s II land. Montezuma II had been receiving knowledge of strangers being sighted around his territory. So they were captured and used as slaves. -

The Turning
In 1519 Hernán Cortés came to defeat Montezuma II. He saw some of his people turning against him and was killed not long after. He was the last of the Aztec emperors, who was conquered by Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés in 1520. -

Jun 1 1520 spanish commanded Moctezuma II to go out to his balcony and give a speech to his people. He then went on to his balcony. The legend says that people then started to throw rocks and darts at him which might have caused him to die soon after. -

Montezuma II died June 30 1520. Moctezuma II died during a battle against the Spanish Conquerors. People have debated whether or not he got stabbed by the spanish or if it was because his own people threw rocks at
him days before but nobody knows. -
