    (part 3)
Fallon, being a large fan of the show, often got into trouble due to laughing and breaking character on air. His laughter was interpreted as some sort of distraction to take the attention of the other cast members. Fallon promised he could not help but lose it when they performed certain skits and he never intended to cause all the distractions (Hiatt).
In 2004, after six seasons, Fallon decided it was time for him to leave the show to try a career in the film industry (Dawson).

At the age of 23, Jimmy Fallon accomplished the only goal he had as a child: to become a part of the Saturday Night Live cast. Thinking it was highly unlikely, the network allowed a negotiation in his contract that allowed his release from the show if he was able to get on SNL.

Although the critics were harsh, they were not nearly as harsh as Fallon was on himself. During an interview, the producer of SNL said, “The only person I’ve ever seen Jimmy be rough on is himself”.
