George Washington passed the Bill of Rights. It has changed the presidency because it guarantees the basic liberties of the citizens, it is the first 10 amendments. -
Thomas Jefferson
He purchased the midwestern land of a territory owned by France called Louisiana. It was a record purchase doubling the size of the U.S.A. It has impacted the presidency because we get lots of our food there like wheat. -
Abe Lincoln
He was able to win the Civil War and keep the Union together. If the North wasn't able to win the Civil War, the United States would be called the Confederate States of America. It has changed the presidency because Abe was on the North's side, by winning the Civil War, Abe is arguably the greatest president we ever had. -
Theodore Roosevelt
Teddy was able to pass an act to build the Panama Canal. The United States also helped Panama become a free country, this allowed the U.S. to build it. It's changed the presidency because we are able to import and export goods easier because we can take a shorter route get to the Pacific Ocean from the Atlantic. -
Fireside Chat
FDR started fireside chats in order for Americans to know how the country was doing. It has impacted how we view the president because can communicate with the public a lot easier. -
Franklin Roosevelt
He defeated the Great Depression, it ended when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, it started the U.S. to fight in World War 2. It has changed the presidency because he got us out of one the toughest times the country has ever faced. The Great Depression started in 1929. -
World War 2
The United States was a big factor in World War 2. They were on the Allies who fought Nazi Germany at Normandy, France. The Allies defeated Germany when they had a handle on Normandy. It has impacted the presidency and how we view it because FDR is now considered one of the best presidents we had.
