Loses His Father

Retirement
After eight years of being a president, he retired on March 7, 1797. After 2 years and 9 months from his retirement, he died in Mount Vernon. -
Death
George Washington died on December 14, 1796, because of throat infection(sore throat). "I am just going! Have me decently buried, and do not let my body be put into the vault less than three days after I am dead.", these were the last words of George Washington. After he died, his only enslaved Wiliam Lee immediately had freedom. -
