He was born the 1st March in 1810 near Varsovia.
Chopin and his family said he was born this date and even he celebrated his birthdays on this day. However, in his birth certificate we find the next date: 22nd February. -
In 1814 he started to play the piano
He was only 4 years old. -
In 1817 he published his first work (La Polonesa)
This work was published in a work shop his father had. His father was French but he moved to Poland and he was French teacher. -
In 1818 he played in a private concert in Varsovia
He was 8 years old. -

• In 1829 he went to live to Vienna, where he made his first good concerts.
In Viena he was living during the next two years. There he was noticed of the revelation of Poland against Russia. Due to it, he wanted to return to Poland but finally he stayed there. Due to this act, nobody liked him as before. “People only likes the waltzes of Strauss and Lanner” he wrote in a letter. -
In 1831 he was to live to Paris.
There, he became a great musician but we emphasize this period of his life because in Paris he turned into a music teacher. He improved with the piano too. -
In 1835 he was very ill.
Due to this, he made his testament. Thanks Godness, he did not use it. -
In 1836
He had marriage with Maria Wodzińska, but the family of the girl was noticed of the ilness of the musician and didn’t let his daughter with him. -
In 1837 he started a love with the French writer George Sand.
This love began very well but as we will see after, it will be broken soon. -
In 1838 he was ill.
He had the tuberculosis and he moved to Mallorca, Balears Islands. There, he was attended by his wife George Sand. But they were always discussing and screaming. So, in 1847 they left it.

He made his last concert in Paris. It would be one of the best concerts in his life. A long and hard concert for him: the chant of the Swan. -
He died the 17th October 1849
Due to the illness he never passed, the tuberculosis.
